The document summarizes a research article that investigated how conditional price promotions influence consumers' estimates of a product's true value after promotions end. Consumers are now more technologically oriented than ever before and are also more concerned about the environment compared to previous times. A new model called Technology & Environment Mediation Model (TEMM) for consumer action related to the willingness to redeem e-coupons is proposed by combining aspects of Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This model articulates perceived the usefulness of having the environmental benefits of e-coupons integrated with concepts of having ease of use for accessing coupons online. Technology is predicted to have mediating effects on perceived easiness of access and environment is expected to mediate perceived usefulness of using e-coupons. The paper also introduces a number of possible research propositions and relates them to managerial implications and Structure Equation Model (SEM) is suggested as an appropriate methodology for testing the proposed model.

Retailer Pricing Strategy and Consumer
Choice under Price Uncertainty

This research examines how consumers choose retailers when they are uncertain
about store prices prior to shopping. Simulating everyday choice, participants made
successive retailer choices where on each occasion they chose a retailer and only
then learned product prices. The results of a series of studies demonstrated that
participants were more likely to choose a retailer that offered an everyday low pricing
strategy (EDLP) or that offered frequent small discounts over a retailer that offered
infrequent large discounts. This choice advantage for the retailer that was cheaper
more often manifested even when its average price was judged to be higher. The
same results were obtained when choices were made a day apart, when price feed-
back was only given for the chosen retailer, and when price feedback was given for
both retailers. Participant’s expectations of future prices but not their judgments of
retailer’s past average prices predicted their subsequent retailer choice.
Imagine that each Friday you purchase fresh pasta fromretailer A or retailer B. You have observed that both re-
tailers offer the pasta at the same regular price, but that A
offers large though infrequent discounts on it, while B offers
small but frequent discounts on it. Unfortunately, you do not
know how much each retailer will charge on any given day
unless you visit that store. If your goal is to minimize spending
across shopping trips, where will you shop this Friday? Will
you choose the retailer for whom you believe the average
price across shopping occasions is lower? Will you choose
the retailer you believe offers larger discounts? Will you

This research was conducted among consumers of famous retail stores (e.g. Carrefour, Giant,
Hypermart, Lotte, etc.) which offering private label brands in Jakarta. This study aimed to analyze the influence of
attitude and brand awareness toward private label brands purchase intention. The assumed sample size was 150
respondents by using convenience sampling technique. The multiple regression model was used in this research
data. The result shows there was relationship found among all the given variables, which means that all research
hypotheses were found to be supported. These findings are expected to provide useful managerial implications for
retailers in terms of effective solutions marketing for private label brands.

ABSTRACT : The increasing competition leads product offering from other competitors are varied, hence
consumer loyalty is questionable. It is prominence to create distinguishable product so that leads loyalty to the
consumer, particularly in grocery product. This paper aims to test brand equity of a new brand which consist of
brand awareness, brand loyalty, brand association, and perceived quality on consumer purchase decisions. The
finding revealed strong relationship on perceived quality and brand association regarding strong cognizable
from the previous brand product in spite of low brand loyalty. The findings are more useful to practitioners in a
way to understand the way of consumer perception point of view.

hypothesis’
describes

association

prices

promotions

lowering
of
both

perceived
product
value
and
the
amount

consumer
would

willing
