Okaloosa County School District isn’t just a great place to

Emerald Cost stretches for 24 miles of snow white
beaches between Ft. Walton Beach and Des n.
Along with water sports in the south end, the vast for‐

New Teacher Induction Program
Orienta on is held prior to pre‐planning week to acquaint new teachers
with district‐level support, policies, and training opportuni es. At this all‐
day training, teachers receive a copy of the New Teacher Induc on Guide‐
book, a handbook that provides mely and vital informa on to ensure a
smooth transi on to the first days of school.
Program: NTIP mee ngs provide mul ple opportuni es throughout the
school year for teachers to gain a greater understanding and mastery of
the Florida Educator Accomplished Prac ces (FEAPs), Florida’s core stand‐
ards for effec ve educators. The NTIP program promotes collegial discus‐
sions and interac ons, while fostering las ng professional rela onships.
Peer Mentors: Assigned to 1st year teachers to provide support and guid‐
ance. Each new teacher and peer mentors received 2 days of TDE to work
together on areas of need or interest to the new teacher.
Instruc onal Coaches: Work within each school to provide resources,
model strategies and give guidance to help teachers improved their prac‐
ce.
Local School Support: Provided via grade‐level and department groups
and through a variety of Professional Learning Community (PLC) groups.
