This document outlines a differentiation class for the 2014-2015 school year. It provides the student objectives of critically thinking, collaborating effectively, problem solving, and knowing their strengths and weaknesses. It details expectations that all assignments must be completed and turned in on time. Assessments will be done through student journals that ask questions about comprehension and self-reflection. Safety is the top priority, and the school has installed an ADT security system. Contact information is provided for Susan Fritz, the teacher.
ASCA's Mindsets and Behaviors competencies are excellent benchmarks to ensure student success in academics, careers, and social/emotional pursuits, but can be a lot for counselors and educators to take on. Learn how AchieveWORKS can personalize the ASCA competencies for students. AchieveWORKS assessments can make learning personalized by identifying focus areas so that students take ownership of the competencies they need most.

Thrively for Classroom: Strength-based exploration, enrichment & guidanceAdrienne Fuller
Our educational system is training kids to think that if they get "C" grades, they're a "C" kid. We believe that is simply not true. Every child has unique strengths that make them awesome, whether or not they are great at testing. You can use Thrively in your classroom to bring out strengths in your students, and celebrate them.
Thrively is free and has no learning curve: just sign up, add your kids, and get started. And, Thrively is COPPA compliant so your students' data is private and safe.

Ordinary to Extraordinary: The Role Each of Us Must Playcatapultlearn
Join us for an exciting session with educational thought leader Ray McNulty as he explores what causes one school to become a top performer, while most others seem to struggle with the same challenge. How do some schools seem to meet the needs of their students while others become dropout factories?
The lack of success in most systems isn’t not knowing what to do, but not instituting the needed changes effectively and with fidelity. In this webinar participants will learn about what it takes to become a high-performing education system in today’s rapidly changing world.

Since the start of the school year, teachers and administrators have been discussing how to effectively help students following the interruptions of the previous two years. We know that children now have significantly more intellectual, social, and emotional requirements than in previous years, and a variety of data points confirm what most of us already experience on a daily basis: During the pandemic years, students' reading and math skills suffered. How do we respond as educators, and where do we go from here?

2. Student Objectives
To know their subject and
critically think competently.
Work in collaboration with
their group assigned and com-
municate effectively.
Problem solve well and capa-
bly.
Know their strengths and
weaknesses to work resource-
fully.
Student Expectations
All assignments will be done on the due
date of each week. Incomplete assign-
ments will be given a zero. Assign-
ments must be 100% complete before
a grade is given. Extra credit can be
given at the end of the month. Journals
must be complete daily.
Social and Emotional
Our classes are big on community projects.
We want to show our community how diverse
we really are. We want to bring out your
child's and our students’ family history, lan-
guage, food and interests. Please join us as we
plan and prepare for our monthly community
shop known as 4U2Know , it is a great way to
know “who’s who’s” in the classrooms.
Assessments
Students will be assess by way of a journal. Ques-
tions will be asked, the following are examples
below:
Can you tell me what you mean in this paragraph?
Why do you mean this?
Do you understand the word communication?
Please give me an example.
What do you think this picture represents com-
municating why or why not?
Do you need help with this? Why or why not?
How well did you do today? 1-5. (1=lowest)
What Is Differentia-
tion?
In my own words differentiation in-
struction is understanding how to get
the content into a process for every
student to know what it is they need to
understand in order to pass a test, a
task, an experiment or a review that
will result in his/her educational suc-
cess. The top 3 important characteris-
tics are : Content, methods used, and
what do my students know? Or don’t
know?
Our Classes are Safe
In today’s world safety is number one for
your child and our students. We now have
installed in our schools the best ADT secu-
rity system, with every moment we moni-
tor what is going on inside our schools in
the hallways, classrooms and offices.
