A bridge map is a tool that uses analogies to compare different subjects that share a relating factor. It displays words relating to each subject and identifies what is the same between them, usually a leadership quality. An example bridge map shows how the president and a teacher both exhibit leadership in their respective roles of leading the United States and leading a classroom. Bridge maps are useful for finding deeper meanings in words or concepts by comparing subjects that may not seem alike through their shared relating factor.

• A Bridge Map can be used to find a deeper
meaning in a word or used simply to compare
to subjects. A Bridge Map can be very helpful
in the use of comparing two subjects that
might not normally be alike. This is due to the
fact that bridge maps use Analogies to present
the information they have. A Bridge maps
main purpose though is to show Analogies.
