- 3. Jessica Watson was not your typical ocean explorer. Compared to others she is very different. She didn’t go out searching for things or discover anything new. Where as other explorers actually go out looking for certain things. Although she had many years of experience and safety courses, Jessica Watson did not go to college. In fact, she was the youngest person to solo circumnavigate the globe starting when she was 16 and ending her journey 3 days after she turned 17. Other oceanic explorers have many years in college with multiple degrees and decades of experience. Jessica Watson went solo on her trip, but other oceanic explorers often have a team.
- 4. Jessica Watson had a few similarities with others in her field, although they are pretty obvious. They all have a passion to sail and be on the water. They traveled by boat.
- 5. Jessica Watson was greatly inspired by Jesse Martin to go on her circumnavigation. Jesse Martin was the former world record holder for the youngest person to solo circumnavigate the globe. They were both from Australia They both loved what they do
