How & when to enable branch features
• Branch feature was the most awaited feature for Indian localization.
SAP has provided the functionality in 9.2 PL07 upgrade including
GST functionality
• Traditionally in SAP B1 Implementation branch mapping was
achieved by Projects, Segmented CoA, Data Ownership, Document
series & Group authorization.
• Branch functionality in Indian localization can help us to achieve
branch wise Trail balance, Balance sheet, Profit & loss.
• Branch feature can be enabled prior to any accounting entries in
database. Hence only new database can avail the feature.
• As shown in below image, Setup of multiple branches can be created
as per requirement
• 'Default warehouse' for every branch must be defined with assigning
one of the branch as 'Main' branch.
• We can also disable any particular branch from Branch setup window

• User from particular branch can be assigned with their branch from
users setup as shown in images above.

• Document numbering can be created branch wise
• G/L under Chart of accounts can be assigned to a particular branch
• In below example segmented chart of accounts are displayed. But it's
not mandatory to keep segmented chart of accounts when using
branch feature.

How Data ownership functionality can help in Branch
• Branch functionality can help us to bifurcate in terms of Accounting,
Reports and Documents
• If requirement arises saying all the business partners of particular
branch will be not visible to another branches OR Any marketing
documents from particular branch should be not visible to other
branch
• All we need to do is activated Data Owner ship in SAP Business as
shown in below image
• Data owner ship can be activated for both Business Partner and
Document either any one.

• Employee master data must be prepared and User Code & branch
should be assigned to user as shown in below image
• Data ownership authorization can be set from the following path as
shown in below image

• All the employee name created under employee master data will be
listed under Data ownership Authorization
• Branch Authorization should be kept 'Full' and all other as 'None' as
shown in above image.
• All the documents listed under data ownership authorization will be
only visible to users of their particular branch.
