Last Sunday night gave us a small taste of what the rest of the awards season might look like, with Boyhood living
up to its “favorite film of the year” status, showing us it’s all it’s cracked up to be. The film walked away from the
night’s happenings with three Golden Globes in top categories: Best Director (Richard Linklater), Best Supporting
Actress – Drama (Patricia Arquette), and Best Motion Picture.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted for the third and last time, and saying they didn’t pull any punches in their
opening monologue would be an understatement. Aside from the usual Hollywood commentary and ribbing, they
decided to put their two cents into the bizarre happenings of the Bill Cosby saga with some rather awkward jokes,
poking fun at the comedy legend. Those jokes were met with mixed reactions, but what caused more of a
controversy was the running gag featuring comedianne Margaret Cho, who poked fun at the whole Sony/The
