2. INTRODUCTION :-
A tumor is a lump or mass of tissue that forms when cells
divide uncontrollably.
A growing tumor may replace healthy tissue with abnormal
tissue.
Bone tumor is a neoplastic growth of tissue
in bone.
It destroys normal bone tissue.
4. Definition :-
A bone tumor is an abnormal growth of cell
within the bone that may be noncancerous
(benign) or cancerous (malignant).
5. Causes:-
The cause of bone tumors is unknown.
Inherited genetic mutations
Radiation
Trauma
Hereditary factors
6. Clinical Features:
• Movement problems
•Stiff bones
•Bone lumps and masses
•Bone tenderness
•Anemia
•Weight loss,Fatigue
•Bone pain ,may be worse at night
•Fever and night sweats
•Bone fracture,especially fracture from slight injury
7. Diagnostic Test :-
•Blood test
•Bone biopsy(removal of a sample of bone
tissue to test for cancer cells )
•CT scan
•MRI
•X-ray
•Positron emission tomography

9. Surgical management:-
•Amputation(removes all or part of an arm or leg when the tumor is large &
nerves and blood vessels are involved)
•Bone graft (affected bone is removed ,bone from elsewhere from the body is
taken)
•Artificial bone (affected bone is removed,putting an artificial bone in)
