• Create a plan for enrichment
services at the middle school
level
– Research best practices in gifted
services
– explore how comparable districts
provide services
– develop recommendations for
services
• During the 2012-13 school
year, the Assistant
Superintendent for Curriculum
and Instruction will enhance 21st
Century learning as measured by:
1) the implementation of the
Common Core Math, English
Language Arts and Literacy
Standards, 2) a recommendation
for enrichment services at the
middle school level, 3) a plan for
implementation of foreign
language at the elementary
level, and 4) the implementation
of continuous improvement (8
components) within the K-12
classrooms.

Services for Qualifying Students
• Services will:
– be equitable between the middle schools
– enrichment and honors curriculum will be the
same for grade level courses
• Services may:
– look slightly different due to unequal enrollment
between the middle schools at this time
• DVMS may have cohorts within a literature section if
there are not enough qualifying students for a section.
