RESUMO: Este artigo apresenta uma discussão sobre os aspectos que envolvem a aprendizagem e a avaliação desta aprendizagem na Educação a Distância (EaD). Um levantamento sobre a situação dos cursos a distância no Brasil foi realizado no portal do Ministério da Educação (MEC), onde foi verificado que apenas 13 cursos de graduação a distância, oferecidos em instituições de ensino superior brasileiras, foram avaliados com conceito máximo pelo MEC. Um estudo de caso é apresentado como exemplo de situação prática que mostra algumas das dificuldades enfrentadas pelos sujeitos que atuam na EaD. E, finalmente, é apresentada uma análise do estudo de caso no que diz respeito às possibilidades de interação e de metodologias de avaliação da aprendizagem na EaD que podem auxiliar a repensar o cenário da EaD no Brasil.
