What kind of media institution might distribute your project and why?
What does a production company do?I used the production company Walt Disney productions to open my film as I feel that they are the company that would be most likely to distribute a film like mine. A production company is responsible for the development of a production and they may also be responsible for funding. They are also responsible for producing films, radio, a television programme and new media.
The idea of a distributor and who that might be and why?	The idea of a distributor is an individual company that is the final stage between the production and exhibition of a film. If a company is small, they can sell their film to a bigger production company or they can produce and release themselves if they are a bigger company. It means the marketing of movies in cinemas and for home theatres such as DVDs and television.
Where the money might have come from for a film such as yours? As my film is filmed in a house, I would say that the local community may pay for me to use their location. The further into the film I would film, the more outside locations would be used. In 'Paranormal Activity' the house that the film is filmed in could not have been funded as it is the directors own house so there is no where to get money from. If I filmed somewhere other than my own house, the film may be able to get funding from the community and the location if it were released.
Why the various people are named in the titles - which jobs appear in titles and in what order and how have you reflected this? I have credited myself for the production, editing and directing and I have also credited the character and who the music is by. I have noticed that I have credited people in a different order to other films which I was unsure about until I had handed in my film. I could have looked more into the opening credits of films and see what order they go in however I feel that with my film, it goes well to have things in the order they are (importance).
I would also say that my film is quite similar to that of Napoleon Dynamite released in 2004 as the opening sequences both have an unusual way of opening the film. The food used in Napoleon Dynamite is replaced in my film by the gloves and paper however there is a very 'do it yourself - handmade' look to both of the openings.  This film has also been a success for its comedy and unusualness of presentation and storyline. This story too is about a teenager however the characters are very different in both gender and characteristics as Napoleon Dynamite is an alienated boy who has to deal with living with a strange family and my film is just a girl with a normal family and magical powers. I would say that my film is similar to Matilda. This film was released in 1996  and was a huge success and still is. I would hope that if my film was released it would also have the same success because of the unusualness and originality of the film. I feel that my character is similar to Matilda also played by Mara Wilson through looks and personality of character in the two films. Neither character uses their powers for anything bad in the openings of the film however throughout the film, Matildas powers start to get used for revenge however we are unsure of what happens in Un Autre Jour other than knowing that Lex looses her powers. What your film is similar to 'institutionally'
Walt Disney Productions	The Walt Disney Company which is more commonly known as Disney, is the largest media and entertainment conglomerate in the world. It was founded in October 1923 by brothers Walt Disney and Roy Disney as the Disney Brothers Cartoon Studio, the company was later renamed Walt Disney Productions in 1929. Walt Disney Productions established itself as a leader in the American animation industry before becoming a live-action film production, television, and travel. Company. Taking on its present name in 1986, The Walt Disney Company expanded its existing operations and began to also work more with theatre, radio, publishing, and online media. They have created new areas of the company in the hopes that more mature, older people will begin to enjoy the wonders of Disney as well as its usual family-oriented brands.
20th Century FoxParamount PicturesTwentieth Century Fox Film Corporation, is one of the six major American film studios. It is a media conglomerate owned by Rupert Murdoch. The company was founded on May 31, 1935 as the result of the merger of Fox Film Corporation, founded by William Fox in 1915, and Twentieth Century Pictures, founded in 1933. 20th Century Fox's are famous for producing films such as Star Wars, Ice Age, Garfield, X-Men, Die Hard, Planet of the Apes, Home Alone, Night at the Museum, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and The Chronicles of Narnia (which was previously distributed by Walt Disney Pictures). Paramount pictures was founded in May 1912. It is most famous for its well known films such as: My Fair Lady, Chicken Run and the new film that is currently in cinemas the new Shutter Island. These are all contrasts to the film I have produced and the production company I chose for my film apart from ‘Chicken Run’ which was an influence when deciding what I would like to make for my film because of its animation. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory was also produced by Parmount Pictures- another well known and loved film however it has ended up with other production companies also.Contrasting distributors
