presents an automated method for the extraction of
optic disc and optic cup using Fuzzy C
Means clustering technique. The validity of this ne
w method has been tested on 454 colour
fundus images from
three different publicly available databases DRION,
DIARATDB0 and
DIARETDB1 and, images from an ophthalmologist. The
average success rate of optic disc and
optic cup segmentation is 94.26percentage. The scat
ter plot depicts high positive correlation
between clinical CDR and the CDR obtained using the
new method. The result of the system
seems to be promising and useful for clinical work

Through Image processing, we do some operations on an image, to get an enhanced image or we try to acquire some useful information from it. They help in manipulating digital images through the use of computers. We Perform Image Restoration, Linear Filtering, Independent Component Analysis, Pixelation, Template Matching, Image Generation Techniques even to image to obtain promisable results. This Review Paper also summarizes some of the enhancement approaches which have impacted image segmentation approaches over these years.
CONVOLUTIONAL NEURAL NETWORK BASED RETINAL VESSEL SEGMENTATION
In human eye, the state of the blood vessel is a crucial diagnostic factor. The segmentation of blood vessel
from the fundus image is difficult due to the spatial complexity, adjacency, overlapping and variability of
blood vessel. The detection of ophthalmic pathologies like hypertensive disorders, diabetic retinopathy and
cardiovascular diseases are remain challenging task due to the wide-ranging distribution of blood vessels.
In this paper, Stacked Autoencoder and CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) technique is proposed to
extract the blood vessel from the fundus image. Based on the experiments conducted using the Stacked
Autoencoder and Convolutional Neural Network gives 90% & 95% accuracy for segmentation.

At the essence of video surveillance, there are abnormal detection approaches, which have been proven to be substantially effective in detecting abnormal incidents without prior knowledge about these incidents. Based on the state-of-the-art research, it is evident that there is a trade-off between frame processing time and detection accuracy in abnormal detection approaches. Therefore, the primary challenge is to balance this trade-off suitably by utilizing few, but very descriptive features to fulfill online performance while maintaining a high accuracy rate. In this study, we propose a new framework, which achieves the balancing between detection accuracy and video processing time by employing two efficient motion techniques, specifically, foreground and optical flow energy. Moreover, we use different statistical analysis measures of motion features to get robust inference method to distinguish abnormal behavior incident from normal ones. The performance of this framework has been extensively evaluated in terms of the detection accuracy, the area under the curve (AUC) and frame processing time. Simulation results and comparisons with ten relevant online and non-online frameworks demonstrate that our framework efficiently achieves superior performance to those frameworks, in which it presents high values for the accuracy while attaining simultaneously low values for the processing time.

Retina images are obtained from the fundus camera a
nd graded by skilled professionals. However there i

raged computer assisted monitoring. Evaluation of
blood vessels network plays an important task in a
variety of medical diagnosis. Manifestations of
numerous vascular disorders, such as diabetic retin
opathy, depend on detection of the blood vessels
network. In this work the fundus RGB image is used
for obtaining the traces of blood vessels and areas
of
blood vessels are used for detection of Diabetic Re
tinopathy (DR). The algorithm developed uses
morphological operation to extract blood vessels. M
ainly two steps are used: firstly enhancement opera
tion
is applied to original retina image to remove noise
and increase contrast of retinal blood vessels. Se
condly
morphology operations are used to take out blood ve
ssels. Experiments are conducted on publicly availa
ble
DIARETDB1 database. Experimental results obtained b
y using gray-scale images have been presented.

The legal cause of blindness for the workingage
population in western countries is Diabetic Retinopathy - a
complication of diabetes mellitus - is a severe and wide- spread
eye disease. Digital color fundus images are becoming
increasingly important for the diagnosis of Diabetic Retinopathy.
In order to facilitate and improve diagnosis in different ways, this
fact opens the possibility of applying image processing techniques
.Microaneurysms is the earliest sign of DR, therefore an
algorithm able to automatically detect the microaneurysms in
fundus image captured. Since microaneurysms is a necessary
preprocessing step for a correct diagnosis. Some methods that
address this problem can be found in the literature but they have
some drawbacks like accuracy or speed. The aim of this thesis is
to develop and test a new method for detecting the
microaneurysms in retina images. To do so preprocessing, gray
level 2D feature based vessel extraction is done using neural
network by using extra neurons which is evaluated on DRIVE
database which is superior than rulebased methods. To identify
microaneurysms in an image morphological opening and image
enhancement is performed. The complete algorithm is developed
by using a MATLAB implementation and the diagnosis in an
image can be estimated with the better accuracy and in shorter

Therefore, the primary challenge is to balance this trade-off suitably by utilizing few, but very descriptive features to fulfill online performance while maintaining a high accuracy rate. In this study, we propose a new framework, which achieves the balancing between detection accuracy and video processing time by employing two efficient motion techniques, specifically, foreground and optical flow energy. Moreover, we use different statistical analysis measures of motion features to get robust inference method to distinguish abnormal behavior incident from normal ones. The performance of this framework has been extensively evaluated in terms of the detection accuracy, the area under the curve (AUC) and frame processing time. Simulation results and comparisons with ten relevant online and non-online frameworks demonstrate that our framework efficiently achieves superior performance to those frameworks, in which it presents high values for the accuracy while attaining simultaneously low values for the processing time.

raged computer assisted monitoring. Evaluation of
blood vessels network plays an important task in a
variety of medical diagnosis. Manifestations of
numerous vascular disorders, such as diabetic retin
opathy, depend on detection of the blood vessels
network. In this work the fundus RGB image is used
for obtaining the traces of blood vessels and areas
of
blood vessels are used for detection of Diabetic Re
tinopathy (DR). The algorithm developed uses
morphological operation to extract blood vessels. M
ainly two steps are used: firstly enhancement opera
tion
is applied to original retina image to remove noise
and increase contrast of retinal blood vessels. Se
condly
morphology operations are used to take out blood ve
ssels. Experiments are conducted on publicly availa
ble
DIARETDB1 database. Experimental results obtained b
y using gray-scale images have been presented.

The legal cause of blindness for the workingage
population in western countries is Diabetic Retinopathy - a
complication of diabetes mellitus - is a severe and wide- spread
eye disease. Digital color fundus images are becoming
increasingly important for the diagnosis of Diabetic Retinopathy.
In order to facilitate and improve diagnosis in different ways, this
fact opens the possibility of applying image processing techniques
.Microaneurysms is the earliest sign of DR, therefore an
algorithm able to automatically detect the microaneurysms in
fundus image captured. Since microaneurysms is a necessary
preprocessing step for a correct diagnosis. Some methods that
address this problem can be found in the literature but they have
some drawbacks like accuracy or speed. The aim of this thesis is
to develop and test a new method for detecting the
microaneurysms in retina images. To do so preprocessing, gray
level 2D feature based vessel extraction is done using neural
network by using extra neurons which is evaluated on DRIVE
database which is superior than rulebased methods. To identify
microaneurysms in an image morphological opening and image
enhancement is performed. The complete algorithm is developed
by using a MATLAB implementation and the diagnosis in an
image can be estimated with the better accuracy and in shorter

BLOOD VESSEL EXTRACTION FOR RENTAL IMAGE
- 1. Softroniics BLOOD VESSEL EXTRACTION FOR RETINAL IMAGE ABSTRACT This paper presents an automated blood vessel detection method from the fundus image. The method first performs some basic image preprocessing tasks on the green channel of the retinal image. A combination of morphological operations like top- hat and bottom-hat transformations are applied on the preprocessed image to highlight the blood vessels. Finally, the Kohonen Clustering Network is applied to cluster the input image into two clusters namely vessel and non-vessel .The performance of the proposed method is tested by applying it on retinal images from Digital Retinal Images for Vessel Extraction (DRIVE)database. The results obtained from the proposed method are compared with three other state of the art methods. The sensitivity, false-positive fraction (FPF) and accuracy of the proposed method is found to be higher than the other methods which imply that the proposed method is more efficient and accurate.
