by the hip hop group Wu-Tang Clan which was limited to a single copy

the most expensive musical work ever sold. A legal agreement with the
purchaser states it cannot be commercially exploited for 88 years.

The series was released on YouTube in February 2011. An
anime television series aired in Japan between April and
June 2015. This anime series’ main character is a magical
girl named X.
X’s logo is a representation of the Pleiades star cluster,
which is found in the Taurus constellation, and un-
coincidentally called X in Japanese. Hence the series was
named “Wish Upon the Pleiades” .

In 1943, Richard James was working as a naval mechanical
engineer stationed in Philadelphia. He was working with Xs
that could support and stabilize sensitive instruments aboard
ships in rough seas. Once he accidentally dropped a X from
a shelf and observed it’s motion. The idea for Y struck him
then and he experimented with different types of Xs over the
next year and eventually perfected Y.
The name Y (which means “sleek and graceful”) was chosen
by Richard’s wife Betty after she leafed through the dictionary

The Grist Mill (image on next slide) is located in Sudbury,
Massachusetts and was built in 1929. It was commissioned
by Henry Ford.
In 1952, Grist Mill signed a lease agreement with the
company X and agreed to produce stone-ground whole
wheat flour for X’s products. The Grist Mill shipped out its
entire output to X plants, during the 15 years of the lease
arrangement.
X’s logo is inspired by the architecture of the Grist Mill.

X is a protein (image on next slide) that in humans is
encoded by the SHH gene. X functions as a chemical
signal that is essential for embryonic development. It
plays a role in cell growth, cell specialization, and the
normal shaping of the body.
The name of this protein is a reference to it’s “spiky
appearance” and was devised by Robert Riddle, who
was a postdoc fellow at the Department of Genetics at
Harvard University, after he saw a X comic that his
daughter had brought from England.

In 1919, MIT Professor Frank Shields set out to create a product
that would provide for a less irritating shave. He succeeded with
the invention of Barbasol – a shaving cream that did not have to
be worked into a lather. In 1920, he founded The Barbasol

first aerosol shaving cream can. The can design mimicked a
barber's pole, and is still the trademark design used today.
In 2015, The Barbasol Company partnered with the producers of
a movie franchise in order to release a limited edition range of

The SGR-A1 (image on next slide) is a type of sentry gun (a
weapon that fires autonomously) that was jointly developed
by X and Korea University to assist South Korean troops in
the Korean DMZ. The project was started with an initial
investment by the South Korean government in 2003.
The gun is widely considered as the earliest commercialized
robot with autonomous capabilities and the first of its kind unit
to have an integrated system that includes surveillance,
tracking, firing, and voice-recognition altogether. With
prototypes produced in 2006, the system was designed to
replace human-oriented guarding along the DMZ and to
provide the "perfect guard operation".

complicated watch in history.
