The PED-1000 is a battery-powered,
trace explosive detector that features
new, industry-leading technoglogy to
deliver superior and immediate
explosives detection capabilities in a
completely mobile, easy-to-use
platform. To maximize user
convenience, the system can operate
on the field without down-time by the
use of rechargeable, "hot-swappable"
batteries.
The core technology invovles the use
of proprietary sensor technology that
analyzes air molecules. Thus,
detection can be achieved using the
PED-1000's handlheld platform, or in
virtually an unlimited number of
alternative platforms, including the
fitting of the sensors onto existing
conventional security check systems
such as metal detectors and x-ray
machines, making them highly
adapatable for use in airport/baggage
security and building access control.

This unit is capable of detecting parts-per-quadrillion
(ppq) levels of explosives vapor for most explosive
molecules. No radioactive materials are used in the
PED-1000, so there are no associated certifications,
licenses, inspections, or end-of-life disposal issues.
The PED-1000 is a portable explosives detector that
detects in real-time all nitro-based explosives such as
military, commercial, and homemade explosives
(HMEs). It functions by collecting and analyzing air
molecules using ChemiLuminescence technology and
determines the presence of explosives within 5 to 8
seconds.
Upon detecting a threat substance or an explosives
molecule, the unit will issue an immediate audible
alarm together with a visible red indicator light,
