1. My name is Andreea Maria Adamescu and I am 24 years old. I was born in Brasov and my kindergarten
and primary school years I learned in a Waldorf education system. It was a new approach and a novelty for the
90s Romanian education system. There I was able develop my creativity and my self expression. In addition to
that I started learning German and English form the 1st grade with native speakers. Trough this I developed my
communication abilities and discovered my passion and gift for foreign languages. In the same period besides the
German and English classes I independently learned Italian by watching cartoons and actually excelled in
practicing it with native speakers.
In 1998 I moved in Targu Mures and in a certain way my life changed because I
had to learn to take care of myself since I was only with my mother in a totally new city. I
managed to enter in the high school I wanted, being the last on top of the line. That was the
trigger of my transformation, by gathering information I became more confident, I
transformed my body and blossomed, thus at the BAC exam I was the first in the
whole high school. This rose my ambition, and so I started my studies in Cluj Napoca,
something I would have never thought of doing before.
In Cluj I found AIESEC, it soon became the main contributor of my further development. I have taken different opportunities,
in most of them I started being very shy with not many inputs to give but the conferences I have attended and all situations I have gone
trough have shaped me into the person I am today. The first time I realized how much AIESEC has changed me was when
myfacilitator from CEELDS met with one of my former class mates and realized that she
knows me. Briefly taking about my experience she was surprised to realize that the former shy,
in her place girl has become a very active and outspoken person.
The most I have grown was trough my experience as LC VP OGX in AIESEC Cluj
Napoca, I have managed to experience different crisis management situations, statistics,
strategies, tracking, all kinds of people and also success and friendship. For sure its one of the
periods of my life that I will deeply appreciate for what it has given to me.
