The American Association of Neurological Surgeons held its 2010 annual meeting using Apple iPod touches to deliver all conference content and materials to attendees digitally. Over 3,500 attendees were each given an iPod pre-loaded with the conference schedule, presentations, maps, and more through a custom app. While there were some technical difficulties given it was the first digital-only meeting, attendees and exhibitors responded very positively. As a result, the AANS plans to use iPods again for its 2011 annual meeting with additional interactive features based on feedback.
