“Big data is the data characterized by 4 key
attributes: volume, variety, velocity and
value.”
-- Oracle
“Big data is the data characterized by 3
attributes: volume, variety and velocity.”
Why Big Data
•Key appearance and growth of Big Data are
–Increase of storage capacities
–Increase of processing power
–Availability of data
–Every day we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data;
90% of the data in the world today has been created
in the last two years alone
Let’s look at
Big Data
in a different way.

Big Data Analytics
•Examining large amount of data
•Appropriate information
•Identification of hidden patterns, unknown correlations
•Competitive advantage
•Better business decisions: strategic and operational
•Effective marketing,customer satisfaction, increased
revenue
Importance Big Data
Cost Savings
Time Reductions
New Knowledge
New Product Development
Understand the market conditions
Control online reputation and so on.
Most people don’t know
what to do with all the data
that they already have…
Big Data isn’t big, if you
know how to use it.

Editor's Notes

  • #4 It refers data which can’t be stored in a single unit. It typically refers to data that comes indifferent forms- structured , unstructured ,stream and so on. Like facebook, mailing, online streaming ,twitting ,youtube and so on.
  • #19 We already feel its importance but here are some points are noted
  • #20 Well truly before attend this course I don’t enough idea about Big Data but now thanks to our honorable sir for making this so clear .
  • #21 Finally we can say that Big data is a smart Data because if anyone know what is it and how to work in day today life Currently we are only seeing the beginnings of a transformation into a big data economy. Any business that doesn’t seriously consider the implications of Big Data runs the risk of being left behind.
