• Children came up with the idea to harvest rain
to supplement water shortage in school
toilets. They raised fund to buy the required
materials. Now the materials are ready and
awaits the installation. Since the rainy season
came to an end, the DFC club decided to
install it next year.

18. Past DFC initiatives
• DFC has been a motivating factor for children
to change their behaviour. We have
mentioned a few past initiatives to make this
statement stronger and more real.

19. Plastic free school
• No candy and plastic wrapped gifts during
their birthdays.
• children plant a tree or a flower in the school
to celebrate their birthdays.
• Collected pet bottles and sent for recycling.
• Made paper bags to substitute plastic bags
and gave it to the shopkeepers.
