6. The National Defence Academy is the Joint Services of the Indian Armed
Forces. It includes the Army, the navy and the Air Force. Candidates to NDA are
selected through a written examination and personal interview. It is held two
times a year in the months of April and September. Almost about 320,000
candidates apply for the examination every year. About 9,000 of these are
invited to interview. Among them only a few are selected for the interview and
for further medical examination. Among them only 300-350 cadets are
admitted in each semester.
You can take the NDA entrance exam while in Class XII. Once you clear this
exam, the next step is a Service Selection Board (SSB) interview, which wills last
5 days. The last step in the process is a medical test. After this, all you have to
do is wait for your 10+2 results and NDA merit list. Once you clear those you
will be in the NDA.
