Short Stay Standard Visa-

Dubai welcomed 3.97 million international overnight visitors between January and March 2022, including
3,76,000 from India, placing the city firmly on track for a momentous year, Dubai's Department of Economy and
Tourism said on Wednesday. Around 1.27 million international visitors, including 3,20,000 Indians, had visited the
city during the same period of the previous year, according to data released by the Department of Economy and
Tourism(DET)ofDubai.

Australia has seen a bounce back in visitor visa applications from Indian tourists since the full reopening of the
country's borders on February 21, 2022.
The Australian government announced a number of initiatives to encourage visitors to return, including the
ability to apply for a free visitor visa if one had a visa and was not able to use it due to the pandemic. The
island nation is also offering a visa application charge waiver for tourists whose visa to Australia has either
expired or is expiring between 20 March 2020 and 30 June 2022.
The continent has progressively been reopening its borders to fully vaccinated travellers, first allowing
students, parents and migrants, before reopening to all visitors from February 21.
“Due to increased demand everyone is strongly encouraged to lodge their applications well in advance. An
Australian visitor visa is valid for between 12 months and three years from the date it is granted. This means
that you can apply for a visa early and then book your travel for a time that is convenient for you,” the
Australian government said in a statement.
“Australia has a highly attractive visa offering for tourists. Visa applications can be lodged online at a time and
place that suits you best. Online lodgement offers other benefits such as electronic payment and the ability to
check the status of your application online. An online application can also be completed by a third party such
as a travel agent, with the applicant's permission,” it added.
A “digital passenger declaration” (DPD) has replaced the Australia Travel Declaration. Passengers flying into
Australia will now have to complete the DPD before they can enter the country. One can start DPD seven days
before their flight and submit it within 72 hours prior to departure for Australia.
“This is because you must provide your health information and declaration (vaccination status and Covid-19
test result) within 72 hours before your flight.
The South African Tourism on Monday said it is eyeing 64 per cent year-on-year growth in arrivals from India in
2022, capitalising on strong consumer demand in the country through various marketing initiatives including
roadshows.
India continues to be one of the top-three focus markets for South Africa, which has outlined a strategic road
map to garner 64 per cent y-o-y increase in Indian visitors in 2022, the South African Tourism said in a
statement.
As part of post-pandemic revival plans, South Africa will introduce e-visas for Indians to attract more tourists,
business travellers and movie-makers.
The destination, which remains open to Indian travellers, is also processing tourist visas on priority.India
served as the eighth-largest international source market for South Africa and the country is expected to
maintain its position in the top-10 this year as well, it said.
Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai and Pune continue to be top Indian source markets to South
Africa.Currently, several stop-over flights fly from India to South Africa, including Emirates, Etihad, Qatar
Airways, Air Arabia, Ethiopian Airlines, Kenya Airways and Air Mauritius.
Travellers from India to South Africa will be required to produce a negative PCR (polymerase chain reaction)
test, not older than 72 hours from the time of departure from the country of origin to South Africa, the
tourism board said.
