Beiba Trading Company is an agricultural trading company in Chad that is involved in rice farming, machinery sales, research, and community development. It aims to improve livelihoods through its farming operations, by providing supplies to local schools and health centers, and sponsoring sports. Beiba Trading Company is a reliable market place
for commodities and equiptments in Tangile, Chad.
It´s a commercial arm of a chadian NGO Ferme Agro
Pastorale de DrayNgolo.

and tox). Beiba has its own research facility in Lai.
Beiba is teaching machinery operators and farmers.
Beiba is running a agricultural education series in
Tangile region schools.
Sponsoring
Beiba Trading Company has an aim to improve the
livelihood and health of local communitie. Beiba has
provided school material like books and paper and
furniture to several schools in Tangile.
Beiba has provided medical supplies like blood
sugar testing machines, blood pressure testing
machines, medicines for diabetes, painkillers and
general bandages and cleanig materials to local
health centers.
Beiba has drilled wells to DrayNgolo and Kandjile
villages and provided water pumps for twelve
farmers associations.
Beiba is also a active sponsor of sports activities,
mainly football. Team shirts and balls has been
provided to three local teams. Beiba is also an
official sponsor of University of Lai sports team.
Farming
Ferme Agro Pastorale de DrayNgolo is farming rice
in Tangile region in southern Chad. FAPD is
implementing modern techniques to rice farming
like efficient water usage, soil management,
weather information and latest machinery.
Trading
Beiba Trading Company is a wholesale agent for
rice farmers. It has modern warehouse facilities and
provides financial security to farming with micro
loans, machinery financing and long term futures
contracts with sellers. Beiba imports all farming
equiptments and materials, like rice bags and
fertilizers.
Education and Research
Beiba Trading Company operates in agricultural
recearch together with University of Lai and
government recearch institute Itrad. Beiba is an

Beiba Trading Company is committed in it’s
operations and actions to follow Environmental,
Social and corporete Governance factors ESG and
Principles for Responsible Investment in Farmland
PRI.
ESG and PRI implementations:
• intoduced soil management and conservation
program
• monitored water use and minimized water
pollution
• measures to protect and re-establish biodiversity
• implemented health and safety management
system for all employees
• defined and monitored prohibition for use of
child and forced labor
• established a training program for employees
with the goal of better implementing social,
environmental, health and safety measures
• avoiding use of new crops where potential
negative impacts are not fully understood
• work with local officials and other leaders to
ensure community support
Activities
Beiba Trading Company is also operating in:
• Forestry development
Reforestration program was launched February
2nd 2013. Eucalyptus and Citrus trees were
planted around the school zone in DrayNgolo
and followed by the zone around the health
center in Kandjile.
In Forestry programs Beiba Trading Company is
co-operating with Finnish forestry research
company Tapio.
New tree species are brought to increase the
diversification of local landscape, which lacks
totally the forestry. A nursery garden is built to
develop species to last in this hard area.
• Solar power
Solar powered water pumps are brought to
region to improve active soil and land
management for forestry and farming activities.
Solar powered lights are brought as there is no
electricity in Tangile.
Management
Jean-Marc Alingue
Jean Marc Alingue (b.1966) is a farmer with
banking and marketing background. After
graduating for MSc in Economics from
Universite Paul Valery, Montpellier in France,
he worked several years in Chad in private
banking in Financial Bank (present Orabank)
and in a private commercial company.
In 1999, he moved to Finland where he had
perfected his management skills. He has
started and chaired a sport association and
a nationwide social organization. He speaks
French, English, Finnish, Arabic and local
Chadian languages.
In 2003, the hunger situation in Chad has
pushed him to set up the farm of DrayNgolo.
This work has gradually required all his
attention and his time. By 2010 Jean Marc
Alingue has put up one of the biggest private
rice producing farms in the Tangile region.
Jukka Heikkilä
Jukka Heikkilä (b. 1965 ) has 20 years
experience of trading currencies, commodities
and derivatives in Nordea Bank. He holds BSc
in economic history from University of Joensuu,
Finland and has studied economics in
University of Minnesota, Duluth and finance
in Hanken, School of Economics, Helsinki.
Jukka has worked and lived in Helsinki, New
York and Singapore. He joined Beiba Trading
Company 2011.
