1. How to prepare for Engineering entrance exams
This is a very mature topic for premature teenagers. Before discussing “how” of the issue pertaining
to preparation of engineering, I would like to discuss “why” of the issue which is core of any goal,
any purpose. Engineering is creative application of scientific principles to turn your ideas, your
dreams into something concrete. Being more general, Engineering is the process which turns your
dreams into reality. It is a wider concept rather than demarcating it with some branches of machine
related engineering which comes in our mind as usual. So, engineering is a way, a process, a tool to
chase your dreams, to follow your dreams and turn those into existing matter, into cosmic reality.
Now, we come to the specific view of the topic
“How to prepare for Engineering entrance exams” which we usually mean. There are several
institutions for engineering in our country. Each aspirant wants to admit in premier institution like
I.I.T.s, N.I.T.s, and many other regional colleges and universities. There are many entrance exams
which are conducted separately and each has different patterns on the basis of extent of ease and
broadness of syllabi.
So, first of all we must set a goal for us just after passing 10th which should be
based on our intellectual level and capacity of hard work. We can also join a better coaching
institute for guidance because of cut-throat competition. In case if we are not able to join coaching,
we should prepare our text books and stick to basics and conceptual things. We have to keep the
fact in our mind that we can’t elude ourselves from hard work. But only hard work is not sufficient
to guarantee success, though it is a very necessary factor. Along with hard work, we have to work
out on our attitude which is one of the most important factor in success. As I had discussed above
that Hard work is not sufficient to guarantee success but hard work in proper manner. We can also
term this “hard work in proper manner “ as “Smart Work”. Smart work consists of many factors like
“time Management”, “Smart Study”, keep yourself away from distractions etc. Always be positive
towards your success. Besides personal factors which we have discussed so far, we have to make
balance in social aspects. We should escape ourselves from distractions while preparations. As I had
discussed of prematurity of the aspirants in first a few lines, so it is obvious to distract in this age. To
avoid all these, we should create a self-sustainable environment where you can put your problems
frankly and frequently without any hesitation. We should identify a better group for the purpose
with similar ideas where you can discuss your problems in absence of your teacher. Group study
makes your studies conclusive. Amidst all these, our parents play a very important role in making
our future. They are our first teacher. sometimes we need support to balance emotional upheavals,
which can be managed by our guardians in better way than anyone else. While preparation, we
should identify strength and weakness of ourselves and need to work on our weakness especially.
But it doesn’t mean that you should be complacent towards your strengths. Especially in the end,
strike blatantly over your strong points. Go in examination hall with some strategies, confidence
and positive attitude and rest is upto the aspirants. I can wish them only good luck for their
venture……!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
