How it Began
The Foundation was established in 1986 by a
diverse group of local business and
community leaders to enhance the quality of
public education in Lee County by increasing
community support and involvement in Lee
County public schools.
Mission
We are a non-profit, charitable education
foundation which enhances and enriches the
quality of public education in Lee County for
students and educators. Our programs are
made possible through corporate, individual,
and educational partnerships.
Vision
With philanthropy and community
partnership, we embrace educational
excellence for our
students and teachers to prosper in an
ever-changing global society and economy.
Become a Mentor
We screen and train each of our volunteers
for success.
Individuals that are interested in joining our
dedicated team of mentors go through the
following steps:
1. Submit a paper application
2. Pass a background check
3. Complete a one-time training session
4. Receives a mentor toolkit
5. Pledge to mentor their student for at
least 1 school year
6. Promise to meet their student at least 15
times, for a minimum of 30 minutes
As a mentor, you will meet your student on
school grounds, during school hours.
We will also provide you with continued
training and education throughout the year
by hosting workshops and by providing
electronic resources.
Invest in Florida’s Future:
Be a part of the change you
want to see!
A Change That Lasts A
Lifetime...
It takes just 1 hour a month— YOU can help
a deserving Lee County high school or middle
school student.
Prepare our next generation of workers:
 Help a student succeed personally and
academically
 Put them on a path to college or trade
school
 You will develop your leadership skills
 They will earn college scholarships
through the Foundation
 The community will improve and benefit
Our Mentoring Programs
We offer two transformative, one-on-one
mentoring programs, made available to each
of Lee County’s public high schools and
middle schools
Take Stock in Children is a statewide
scholarship program for at-risk students that
provides a unique opportunity for deserving
students from low-income homes to escape
the cycle of poverty through education.
Student Advocacy & Mentoring Partnership
offers low-income students the opportunity
to achieve success by providing college and
career planning resources and mentoring.
Students in STAMP are also offered
community scholarships, which they can
apply for.
