George Fox University's music students are preparing for their annual Christmas concert from December 13-15. The concert, entitled "Tell the Good News", will feature performances from the Concert Choir, Men's and Women's Chorale, Chamber Choir, and Symphonic Band and Strings. Ticket sales have been the fastest in recent years and people are encouraged to purchase tickets soon before they sell out. The group has been working hard and plans to make some changes to the lighting and mood this year to provide a new experience for returning audience members.

Music Students Prepare for a New Christmas Concert
Newberg, OR- As the Christmas season swings into gear, George Fox choir students
prepare for their annual Christmas concert to take place the weekend of December 13-15 in
Bauman auditorium.
As a popular performance at Fox, time is limited to get tickets to this spectacle entitled
“Tell the Good News.” The event will feature George Fox’s Concert Choir, Men's and Women’s
Chorale, Chamber Choir, and the Symphonic Band and Strings.
The choir promises to have plenty of music to put people in the festive mood. When
asked how many songs there are, Elissa Shinseki, member of the Concert Choir, replied:
“Sixteen. That’s a lot!”
And of course, with so many vocal and instrumental groups, it should have a good
amount of variety.
“There’s a mix of hymns and strictly choral music,” Shinseki said, “and it’s a jumble of
holiday madness.”
The concert has always been popular in the past, but this year it seems to be exceedingly
so. Ticket sales have been going well, and if people wish to attend, they need to jump on buying
seats quickly before all are sold out.
“It’s always very well attended,” Shinseki said. “This is the fastest we’ve been selling
tickets in the past couple years.”

2. Fellow students are already racing to get their seats reserved. Krista Rey, junior student at
George Fox, purchased a ticket with excitement several weeks in advance.
“I bought my ticket because I have several people in my program who are in music and
were raving about the Christmas concert,” Rey said. “And plus I have never been before so I
thought that it would be fun to go and see them perform.”
The group has been pleased with the success in sales and hopes that they will fill the
house for their latest performance.
“We’re actually changing it up this year,” Shinseki revealed, though she was not at
liberty to divulge exactly how so. She did hint that lighting and mood might be slightly different
then in the past.
“People who are used to a familiar atmosphere are going to be pleasantly surprised by the
changes being made,” Shinseki said.
The Christmas Concert should be a festive holiday event, and all are encouraged to
attend. Students should especially consider going due to the reduced prices of student tickets. See
