Bear Grylls had a background in the British Special Air Service and attended the University of London before having a parachuting accident in Kenya at age 21 where his parachute failed to open. He is known for his extreme outdoor adventures and challenges such as circumnavigating the UK on a Jet Ski, crossing the North Atlantic twice, and achieving the longest indoor freefall in 2008.
