Personal interest
Law is a very good opportunities for me to learn and understand more about my country as
Ireland’s law are similar back in my country. Furthermore, I like writing and this will help me to
improve in my hobby which will extend my knowledge in culture and interest.

This new dual degree programme provides an opportunity to acquire legal qualifications in both Ireland and France.
Understanding your Degree
This dual degree programme provides an opportunity to acquire legal qualifications in both Ireland and France.
Students who successfully complete this programme will be awarded the Bachelor of Civil Law degree from UCD and a French law
degree, the Maîtrise, from the University of Panthéon-Assas (Paris II). Students will spend the first two stages in UCD studying for the BCL.
The final two stages will be spent in the Faculty of Law at Paris II studying for the Maîtrise. The Maîtrise is a primary law degree
Mapping your Degree
STAGES 1 & 2
During Stages 1 and 2 of the dual degree programme, you will study the normal range of legal subjects that are taken in the BCL and
which are required by the professional legal bodies. In addition, you will take both French Public Law and French Private Law.
STAGES 3 & 4
Stages 3 and 4 are spent in Paris II and subjects are set by Paris II (see www.u-paris2.fr, Formation, LMD, Doubles diplômes).
