The Salvation Army
   The Salvation Army is a Protestant Christian church
    known for its thrift stores and charity work.
   It is an international movement that currently works in
    over 120 countries.
   The Salvation Army provided social services to the
    people of all ages.
   The Salvation Army was founded in 1865 in
    United Kingdom by William Booth and his wife
    Catherine as the North London Christian
    Mission and with a quasi-military structure.

   Elderly who were homeless now have a place to stay known as
    Peacehaven which is 401-bed Nursing Home. The Home has
    13 separate Resident Living Areas (RLA), each designed as an
    individual home-like environment. Residents in the RLA are
    provided with the following services: clinical care, therapy, allied
    health, social work, security, dietary, pastoral
    care, laundry, visiting and administration.
   Food parcels for families and people who are struggling
    to afford the food they need. Street teams handing out warm
    clothes, blankets, food and hot drinks to people sleeping on the
    streets. Visiting people who are lonely, elderly or
    sick, and people who are in prison.
   In Singapore, Kallang Bahru Community Centre has been
    providing tuition progammes for the lower-income children in the
    community. The tutors are mainly volunteers from The Salvation
    Army.
   Young children who made mistakes and whose parents had sent
    them away have a place to stay known as Gracehaven. The
    Salvation Army believes in giving young people another chance in
    their lives. The ultimate goal is help each person to get back on
    the right track and return home to his/her family.

    Gracehaven and Peacehaven both
    belongs to The Salvation Army.
