The little brown bat is a common bat species found throughout North America. It has dark brown fur, a wingspan of 8.7-10.6 inches, and eats insects like moths and mosquitoes. Little brown bats form large nursery colonies in the spring where females give birth to a single baby each. While they are not currently endangered, little brown bats help control pest insects and hibernate during fall and winter months.
