New advancement of technology and never satisfying demands of the civilization are putting huge pressure on the natural fuel resources and these resources are at a constant threat to its sustainability. Surface finish has a vital influence on functional properties such as wear resistance and power loss due to friction on most of the engineering components. Voltage, mesh number, revolutions per minute (rpm) of electromagnet, and percentage weight of abrasives has been identified as important process parameters affecting surface roughness. The experiments were planned using response surface methodology and percentage change in surface roughness (ΔRa) was considered as response. Analysis of experimental data showed that percentage change in surface roughness (ΔRa) was highly influenced by mesh number followed by percentage weight of abrasives, rpm of electromagnet, and voltage. The process has been investigated extensively in the finishing of cylindrical surfaces. The surface finish was found to improve significantly with an increase in the grain size, relative size of abrasive particles vis-à-vis the iron particles, feed rate and current. Super finishing is a micro-finishing process that produces a controlled and smooth surface condition on work pieces. It is not primarily a sizing operation, its major purpose is to produce a surface on a work piece capable of sustaining uneven distribution of a load by improving the geometrical accuracy. The wear life of the parts micro finished to maximum smoothness is extended considerably. According to the design of experimentation, mathematical model for Lapping operation on advance ceramic material is proposed. Abstract: In this investigation, experimental work and computational work are combined to obtain improvement in the surface roughness of nickel alloy specimen, the machining is carried out by means of CNC wire electric discharge machining (WEDM). Brass wire is used as the tool electrode and nickel alloy (Inconel600) is used as the work piece material. The machining parameters such as Pulse-On time (Ton), Pulse-Off time (Toff), Peak Current (Ip), and Bed speed are considered as input parameters for this project. Surface roughness and Recast layer are considered the output parameters. The experiments
with the pre-planned set of input parameters are designed based on Taguchi’s orthogonal array. The surface roughness is measured using stylus type roughness tester and the thickness of the Recast layer is measured using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results obtained from the experiments are fed to the Minitab software and optimum input parameters for the desired output parameters are identified. The software uses the concept of analysis of variance (ANOVA) and indicates the nature of effect of input parameters on the output parameters and confirmation is done by validation

Optimization of machining parameters is valuable to maintain the accuracy of the components and to minimize
the cost of machining. Surface finish is an important measure for the quality of the machined parts. The present
work is an experimental investigation to study the effect of machining parameters on Material Removal Rate
and Surface Roughness in dry turning of medium carbon steel EN19. Taguchi’s single objective optimization
method was used to find the effect of input parameters on the responses. The experiments were conducted as per
Taguchi’s L9 Orthogonal Array on CNC lathe under dry conditions. Cutting parameters of speed, feed and
depth of cut were taken as inputs and machining was done by PVD TiAlN tool. Regression models for the
responses were prepared by using MINITAB-16 software. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to find the
influence of machining parameters on the responses. From the ANOVA results, it is clear that speed has high
influence followed by feed and depth of cut has very low influence in achieving the optimum values for both
Material Removal Rate and Surface Roughness. Finally, experimental and Regression values of responses were
compared. From the results, it is found that both the values are close to each other hence, the regression models
prepared were more accurate and adequate. Percentage of errors between experimental and regression values
were calculated and they found in the range of ±0.20.

IRJET- Study of Square Concrete Column Behavior Confined with CFRP Sheets
This study investigated the behavior of square concrete columns confined with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets. 30 column specimens were tested including plain concrete, reinforced concrete, and CFRP-confined columns of different concrete grades (M20, M30, M40) and CFRP layer configurations (1-3 layers). Results showed that:
1) Load capacity increased up to two CFRP layers then decreased for three layers while ductility continuously increased up to three layers.
2) Toughness index increased with concrete grade and number of CFRP layers.
3) Stiffness increased for CFRP-confined columns compared to plain and reinforced concrete columns.

Abstract Electrical discharge machining is the most widely used machining process in industries. Its use is particularly intense when very complex shapes on hard materials with a high dimensional accuracy are required. However the technological capability of the process has limited application when there is a requirement of high surface quality and mirror like characteristics. Its operation is characterized by long machining time, high tool wear and uncertainty in the final finish of the surface. However for finish surface, materials are subjected to mechanical polishing after EDM, which is wastage of time and energy. To improve the efficiency and surface finish of the work piece, the abrasive particles of Aluminum oxide (Al2O3 ) are mixed into the dielectric fluid at tool-work interface. In this Abrasive mixed EDM, the Abrasive mixed dielectric fluid facilitate the bridging effect and minimize the insulating strength of the dielectric fluid. As a result it improves the material removal rate and surface roughness. This paper presents the effect of abrasive on the performance of the EDM process. The results of both the processes have been analyzed using Design of experiments to find the significant parameters and to obtain the optimum parameters required for machining. Analyzed results indicate that abrasive particle size and abrasive concentration and pulse current are the most significant parameters that improve the material removal rate in comparison with traditional EDM. A new experimental setup is developed for experimentation. The result shows that the MRR increases with the abrasive mixed EDM. Optimization of machining parameters is valuable to maintain the accuracy of the components and to minimize
the cost of machining. Surface finish is an important measure for the quality of the machined parts. The present
work is an experimental investigation to study the effect of machining parameters on Material Removal Rate
and Surface Roughness in dry turning of medium carbon steel EN19. Taguchi’s single objective optimization
method was used to find the effect of input parameters on the responses. The experiments were conducted as per
Taguchi’s L9 Orthogonal Array on CNC lathe under dry conditions. Cutting parameters of speed, feed and
depth of cut were taken as inputs and machining was done by PVD TiAlN tool. Regression models for the
responses were prepared by using MINITAB-16 software. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to find the
influence of machining parameters on the responses. From the ANOVA results, it is clear that speed has high
influence followed by feed and depth of cut has very low influence in achieving the optimum values for both
Material Removal Rate and Surface Roughness. Finally, experimental and Regression values of responses were
compared. From the results, it is found that both the values are close to each other hence, the regression models
prepared were more accurate and adequate. Percentage of errors between experimental and regression values
were calculated and they found in the range of ±0.20.

IRJET- Study of Square Concrete Column Behavior Confined with CFRP Sheets
This study investigated the behavior of square concrete columns confined with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets. 30 column specimens were tested including plain concrete, reinforced concrete, and CFRP-confined columns of different concrete grades (M20, M30, M40) and CFRP layer configurations (1-3 layers). Results showed that:
1) Load capacity increased up to two CFRP layers then decreased for three layers while ductility continuously increased up to three layers.
2) Toughness index increased with concrete grade and number of CFRP layers.
3) Stiffness increased for CFRP-confined columns compared to plain and reinforced concrete columns.

In this investigation, experimental work and computational work are combined to obtain
improvement in the surface roughness of nickel alloy specimen, the machining is carried out by means
of CNC wire electric discharge machining (WEDM). Brass wire is used as the tool electrode and nickel
alloy (Inconel600) is used as the work piece material. The machining parameters such as Pulse-On time
(Ton), Pulse-Off time (Toff), Peak Current (Ip), and Bed speed are considered as input parameters for this
project. Surface roughness and Recast layer are considered the output parameters. The experiments
with the pre-planned set of input parameters are designed based on Taguchi’s orthogonal array. The
surface roughness is measured using stylus type roughness tester and the thickness of the Recast layer
is measured using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The results obtained from the experiments are
fed to the Minitab software and optimum input parameters for the desired output parameters are
identified. The software uses the concept of analysis of variance (ANOVA) and indicates the nature of
effect of input parameters on the output parameters and confirmation is done by validation
experiments. Once the recast layer thickness is obtained Chemical Etching and abrasive blasting is
performed in order to remove the recast layer and again the surface roughness is measured by using
stylus type roughness tester. Finally from the obtained results it was found that there was significant
improvement in the Surface roughness of the nickel alloy material. In addition using regression
analysis this work is stimulated by computational method and the results are obtained.

Abstract Electrical discharge machining is the most widely used machining process in industries. Its use is particularly intense when very complex shapes on hard materials with a high dimensional accuracy are required. However the technological capability of the process has limited application when there is a requirement of high surface quality and mirror like characteristics. Its operation is characterized by long machining time, high tool wear and uncertainty in the final finish of the surface. However for finish surface, materials are subjected to mechanical polishing after EDM, which is wastage of time and energy. To improve the efficiency and surface finish of the work piece, the abrasive particles of Aluminum oxide (Al2O3 ) are mixed into the dielectric fluid at tool-work interface. In this Abrasive mixed EDM, the Abrasive mixed dielectric fluid facilitate the bridging effect and minimize the insulating strength of the dielectric fluid. As a result it improves the material removal rate and surface roughness. This paper presents the effect of abrasive on the performance of the EDM process. The results of both the processes have been analyzed using Design of experiments to find the significant parameters and to obtain the optimum parameters required for machining. Analyzed results indicate that abrasive particle size and abrasive concentration and pulse current are the most significant parameters that improve the material removal rate in comparison with traditional EDM. A new experimental setup is developed for experimentation. The result shows that the MRR increases with the abrasive mixed EDM. Coated such as valves,pump,pipe,fasteners,skid & etc.. are exposed in highly corrosive environment where it get easily corroded due to poor quality of coating & inadequate coating thickness. • In order to ensure the real time of coating quality will conduct the salt spray testat 500hrs min as per ASTM B117

Surface cleaning removes rust and other contaminants which could cause problems with paint adhesion, or in the most extreme cases, compromise the integrity of the surface metal itself. 6 Blasting process:
