This project investigates external surface coatings for offshore applications. The objectives are to validate the life cycle of external coatings exposed to highly corrosive environments. Samples will undergo salt spray testing for a minimum of 500 hours according to ASTM B117 standards. Four students will conduct the project over two months, exploring how changing the chemical ratio and sodium concentration of primer coatings affects the corrosion resistance of coated steel pipes. Digital thickness gauges and surface roughness measurements will be used to analyze the coatings.
