Economic interdependence with the United States was found to have a stronger correlation with anti-American sentiment in the Muslim world than in Latin America based on a study of 7 Muslim nations and a comparison to Latin America. The study used 2013 Pew Research Center data on attitudes and economic data from the OECD to correlate sentiment with trade, aid, and employment. It found the Muslim world showed a more positive correlation between economic ties and sentiment than Latin America, which had an inverse relationship.
