a sport played between two teams of eleven players with a

Dhaka League currently known as Dhaka Senior Division League is the
third tier of football league in Bangladesh played by clubs in Dhaka. Until
2006, it was the top-tier league of the country.
16. Dhaka League
First in 1948, a year after the independence
of Pakistan and India the Dhaka League became the center
of attraction for the people of Dhaka, which was then
in East Pakistan in the 1960s. Sports clubs like Dhaka
Wanderers (The President of Dhaka wanderers was MD.
Abdul Gaffar coming from a Nawab Family.)
and Mohammedan Sporting Club were the more successful
ones and grew the base for league football among Bengalis.
Dhaka's football grew popular and footballers from here
were selected for the Pakistan national football team.
17. Dhaka League
After 23 seasons, the Dhaka League stopped for two years
in Bangladesh's liberation war but continued the following
year. In the years before 2006 it became the most
renowned and premier football league in the country as no
national league was introduced. It gained more fans and
spectators than any other football competitions in
Bangladesh but unfortunately the 2006 saw it losing its
quality with top-level teams leaving for the national league.
18. Dhaka League
The league produced premium clubs like Abahani Krira
Chakra, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Muktijoddha Sangsad
KS, Brothers Union and Sheikh Russell KC which are the "big
fives" in the Bangladesh Premier League today. Most of the
clubs of Bangladesh Championship League have also played
in Dhaka League earlier.

Lanka, Bhutan and India. They lost to India and Sri Lanka 3-0
and 2-1 respectively, but won to Bhutan 1-0 thanks to a goal
from Pru Suinu at the 19 minutes, although that victory
Bangladesh did not advance to the next round and thus
ended eliminated.
21. Bangladesh Women Football
Their latest games were the 2014 Women's Asian Cup
Qualifiers against Thailand, Iran and the Philippines, losing
them all, having 15 goals against without scoring one and left
out of the Asian Cup and 2015 Women's World Cup, to be
held in Canada from 6 June to 5 July 2015.
22. Things We’ll Do If We Become Kazi
Salahuddin
Every four years, people of Bangladesh engage themselves heavily in the FIFA
World Cup though Bangladesh is light years away from it. This enthusiasm for the
World Cup is evidence how much they love football. This is not a new-found
passion though; rather a glorious past of football in Bangladesh drives the football-
loving people to be engaged in the greatest show on earth.
The passion is so high that they hoist the national flags of their teams on rooftops
and engage in bitter arguments about their teams, like they once did during
matches of country's two archrivals -- Abahani and Mohammedan.
