OBJECTIVE/S: - To Inform PWDs and Stakeholders in the Community about PWD Rights and Privileges - To Empower PWDs and their Support Teams (Eg.: Guardians; Parents; Families) in Barangay Bambang, Pasig City - To Integrate PWDs into the Mainstream Of The Society - PWD Awareness - Promote participation in political processes and decision-making (Incheon Strategy) - Improve the reliability and comparability of disability data (Incheon Strategy) - Accelerate the ratification and implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the harmonization of national legislation with the Convention (Incheon Strategy) - To develop a global partnership for the development (Millennium Development Goal/s) - To make a borderless and more inclusive society for PWDs - To make Barangay Bambang, Pasig City a role model Barangay in the implementation of the laws concerning PWDs METHODOLOGY: A Magna Carta Forum of Persons With Disabilities will be the way to achieve the abovementioned goals. BACKGROUND:
Background of the Organization:
AKKAPP PWD Bambang was founded on December 07, 2013 – Saturday with the purpose of
strengthening the sector of Persons with Disabilities in Barangay Bambang, Pasig City. It is a Barangay-
Based organization of persons with disabilities under the umbrella of AKKAPP Pasig Federation, Inc.
(The only Federation of Persons with Disabilities duly recognized by the City Government of Pasig). It
was SEC Registered on May 31, 2017 – Wednesday as Bambang PWD Association, Inc. with Company
Reg. No.: CN201717699.
Background of the Proposal:
Persons with Disabilities should be reminded and informed of their rights and privileges in accordance
with the law.
Other people in the community should be involved and be informed as well. That is the reason why
representative/s from other sectors/ organizations/ associations should be involved.
PROBLEMS:
- Most families of Persons with Disabilities and their families/ guardians know little or nothing about the
rights and privileges of Persons With Disabilities.
- Other people/ sectors/ groups/ organizations/associations in the society that are integral in making the
