Modern advances in neuroscience have made a tremendous amount of new information available for baby learning programs. New technologies, including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computerized Axial Tomography (CAT scans), have enabled scientists to see different aspects of brain functioning. This new wealth of knowledge provided by technology promises to provide valuable insight into the brain and learning.

3. Learning through technology As this new research becomes available, certain aspects of baby learning and learning in general have become apparent. We can group these into four established findings. These four findings relate to many aspects of baby learning, but relate particularly to learning through the assistance of technology.

4. 1. Learning environmentThe first finding concerns the importance of the learning environment. It appears that the brain changes physiologically as it encounters different environments. This is a significant finding for learning, and a wide choice of teaching options provided by the parents will give opportunities for children to discover and build on their own identity. Periods of learningAnother important finding is that there are specific sensitive periods of learning, during which certain abilities are acquired more easily than during other times.Using technology at an early age with baby learning programs could be more important than educators had previously considered. The problem-solving and critical thinking that coincides with use of technology would theoretically help to maximize brain growth and learning during these critical learning windows of opportunity (Jensen, cited by Baylor). So our recommendation is the early use of baby learning programs will provide substantial benefits for a babies’ developing brain.

7. 4. Emotions are linked to learningThe final important finding is that emotions are closely linked to learning.
