Effective communication is emphasized as critical for project success. The initial team meetings are identified as important for building rapport and trust through introductions and discussing the project background and goals. Biweekly meetings of Skin and Wound Assessment Nurses are also included for ongoing discussion, feedback, and addressing barriers. An online collaborative site will facilitate information sharing among the different hospital units and staff schedules.

Case #2 – Performance Drinks: Applying Activity Based Costing
Background:
Performance Drinks, LLC is owned by Dave N. Port. Performance Drinks produces a variety of sports centered drinks. They began operations in 1993 shortly after Mr. Port graduated with his M.B.A. from Davenport University. The company saw early success as sports and fitness nutritional products gained new popularity in the 1990’s. Financially the company is sound and has been wise in controlling their growth over the years. However, within the last 18 months Mr. Port has noticed a drop in overall company profitability. This is especially troubling considering that the company has continued to experience top-line growth. Mr. Port and his management team have been considering developing a new product line. However, those plans have been put on hold until they can figure out why their profits are shrinking.
Performance Drinks makes four different kinds of sports drinks. Those drinks are as follows:

The company I am working for has decided to try and manufacture our product in a different country. I have decided to stand behind my CEO and agree that this is a benefit for our company. After doing some research I have found several benefits that we could take advantage of if we did outsource our product these benefits are but are not limited to lower cost, Mass production and lowering tooling cost.
Our company can use the funds we are saving by outsourcing and apply them to other areas of the business for growth. We could ultimately produce our product over seas for a fraction of the cost. If our budget was to remain the same as it would be here in the states, we could potentially pay the same and make twice if not more product in half the time.
My co-worker, Billy does not agree with me. He says that other areas in the world have minimal laws and restrictions on what they can and can not use and this could take away from quality. I answered to his statement that although that is true, we can apply our own restrictions to what is used to make and handle our product and that would guarantee quality is not compromised. he also points out that communication can become an issue if we go with someone that does not speak english. I dont think communiccation will be an issue, there are many translating services.
My other co worker April, agrees with me. She added that another benefit, production over seas is offered by several manufactors and we would have many options when looking for a manufactor and would not be limited as we would be if manufactoring in the states

Good morning class,
The American toy company wants to move the company’s operations overseas. As one of the board members in the company, I am for the change because it will help increase the company’s rate of returns. The merits of opening oversea branches for American toys cannot be overestimated. First, overseas branches will help the company in establishing access to untapped markets for American Toy products. For instance, the company can open new branches in other parts of Europe, Africa, and Asia. According to Hill (2008), this will increase the overall sales volume hence increase the annual business income.
Secondly, expanding the business to other continents will expand the company’s brand recognition (Hill, 2008). With the company only operating in America, its brand name is only recognized by American consumers. This means that the products will not sell readily to consumers from other countries since the brand name will not be recognized internationally. As a result, opening overseas branches will make the company’s product penetrate to consumers on other continents making exportation more effective. Finally, the opening overseas branches will help the company benefit from economies of ...

Investors depend on the information from financial statements in making investment decisions. However, if a company's financial information is used or shared before it is released to the public, this could cause substantial movement in the price of a company's stock. Some individuals do not see anything unethical about insider trading, yet it is a criminal offense, one for which even well-known and respected individuals have served, and are serving, time in prison. CPAs agree to a professional code of conduct upon licensure, but it is important to develop your own conclusions regarding the ethical implications of financial reporting, planning, and decision making within an organization.
By successfully completing this assessment, you will demonstrate your proficiency in the following course competencies and assessment criteria:
· Competency 2: Examine regulatory, ethical, and credibility issues in accounting
1. Analyze how insider trading may affect general business management planning and decision making.
1. Analyze the ethical implications related to financial decisions concerning inside information.
. Competency 5: Communicate in a manner that is professional and consistent with expectations for members of the business professions.

Discussion Board 3: Integrative Managerial Issues

Your boss Kathryn briskly enters your office, sits down, and says, you’re going to love this assignment. Barbara Silva is the CIO for Peachtree Community Hospital in Atlanta.docxwilcockiris
Barbara Silva is the CIO for Peachtree Community Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. As the chief information officer, it has been her duty to assemble a team of healthcare information professionals to prepare for the implementation of HIPAA Privacy Rules.
How did Barbara and her team orchestrate moving forward toward HIPAA Privacy compliance? First, she established a steering committee responsible for HIPAA Privacy planning. The committee focused on three broad areas of development, including:
education;
assessment; and
development of policies and procedures.
The steering committee recognizes that the scope of this project is quite vast and that it encompasses many different areas of the facility. The scope involves not just hospital information systems, but the operations of many departments and manual processes. These varied items are included in the scope of assessment and are found to be the biggest challenge. Developing HIPAA compliant policies and procedures is not a one-time activity as changes are constant. Development and continuous updating will mean that this project is one that will be an ongoing effort.
Part of Peachtree Community Hospital’s key to success has been pulling together the right combination of professionals. The result is a multidisciplinary team which will include the HIM services director and the CCO (chief compliance officer).
Barbara has garnered the following information from experts in the area of HIPAA Privacy Rules who have suggested that healthcare organizations consider the following steps to become compliant:
Inventory the organization’s data as the first step in policy implementation.
Read the Federal Register information on HIPAA.
Focus on HIPAA as a business process issue.
Secure the support of top management and the active involvement and participation of staff in all affected areas.
Thoroughly review outside vendor contracts to ensure compliance with business associate agreements.
Appoint a dedicated staff to the HIPAA privacy initiative.
Preparing for HIPAA compliance will require a complex and thorough evaluation and realignment of business and operational processes.
Your Role/Assignment
You have been consulted by CIO Barbara Silva as the healthcare information systems expert. You will be working directly with the director of HIM services. As a consultant, you have vast experience with HIPAA implementations. Your expertise will be required in several areas.

BARGAIN CITY Your career is moving along faster than you e.docxwilcockiris
BARGAIN CITY
Your career is moving along faster than you expected. You thought that your expertise in Information
systems would result in an initial break-in period as a programmer for Bargain City, a retail chain modeled
along the lines of Wal-Mart. But the resignation of three systems analysts changed all that. The analysts
left to form their own consulting firm.
Knowing that you had a strong dose of systems analysis in college, your boss, Alisa Ernst, decided to let
you begin as a systems analyst. It didn't take her long to give you your first assignment. Alisa made
arrangements for you to visit an area store for the purpose of becoming familiar with activity at the store
level. She expects you to prepare a written report that might serve as the basis for future systems
projects.
You arrive at the West Alameda store at 9 A.M., and you are amazed at how many people are already
shopping. The lot is full, and you have to wait ten minutes-it seems like thirty--to get a parking place.
Inside, the conditions are no better. The store is huge, with fifteen checkout counters, but only four are
open. Each of the four, one of which is the express lane, has a long line of shoppers waiting to check out.
It's a good thing that you are not buying anything. Since you are only conducting a systems study, you will
be able to get out sooner.
You watch the action--or inaction--for a while and then wander back to the storeroom where three stock
clerks are opening boxes. You hear one of them say, "Have you found it yet?" Curious, you introduce
yourself and ask what they are looking for. One of the clerks tells you that the store has a special on
cookout items but ran out of charcoal starter fluid. The truck that was supposed to bring additional stock
broke down in Tuba City. The lack of starter fluid is one reason the lines up front are so long; the
checkout clerks are having to give out rain checks. You can understand why the stock clerks are having
such difficulty; the storeroom is a real mess. Boxes are stacked everywhere. There seems to be no rhyme
or reason to anything.
You ask where the store computer is, and you are directed to a small room in the corner. There it is,
humming away. Automation in action.
With a good grasp of the backroom operation, you return to the front for the purpose of checking out the
office. There's a big line there as well--people waiting to cash checks and return purchases. Most of the
returns seem to be glassware items that the customers found to be broken when they opened their
shopping bags at home. The sackers had not packed the items properly.
When you finally reach the head of the line, you are surprised to learn that the cashier is really the store
manager. He asks you to come back when he has more time. He explains that he had to "let a lot of
people go" in order to stay within the budget that headquarters imposed. You can tell by the way he
snarls his explanation that he is not ver.

Unmasking the Prevailing Culprits in The Present-Day Education System
In pursuit of a holistic, critically provoking, meaningful, and educational oriented environment where teachers are free to teach, and learners are free to think, and the disappointing reality continues to present itself from every dimension. The faults in the current education system are critically unmasked by Mark Edmundson and Paulo Freire in their two invaluable pieces of articles. A careful analysis of the ideas tabled by the two influential education thinkers illustrates numerous underlying commonalities in their works as well as some overlooked ideas in their arguments. The fact that their central ideas in their respective scholarly works revolve around unmasking the true culprits in the present-day education implies that, if Edmundson and Freire were able to converse with each other, they would both agree on the need to change the current education system and build it around critical thinking. It’s to this end that this paper seeks to synthesize their ideas in an attempt to identify common grounds, differences as well the areas they both overlooked.
Looking at the prevailing schooling system in America as well as the ways through which learners are carrying out their studies, the perception of the two education thinkers is of great heed to the whole education system. Deeply entrenched into the Edmundson and Freire respective pieces of literature is the overarching conspiracy and oppression theme where the established, who is this case is the teacher among other the education leaders seek to contain, manipulate, and control the thoughts of the learners. As acknowledged by Freire, “Teachers either work for the liberation of the people- their humanization- or for their domestication, their dominance” (p.243). As a result of this domination and hierarchical relationship, the only knowledge that the learners in the prevailing education system receive are from the teachers, an aspect that dehumanizes the students as they do not get the chance to develop their own knowledge or even challenge the one received from the teachers. The oppression and domination ideology as presented by Freire cast invaluable light on the need for both teachers and students to embrace an “authentic” approach to education which grants them some chance to be aware of their respective incompleteness and eventually strive to be fully human (Freire 244). In a bid to rethink Freire’s oppression implication, as a college student one ought to act as a co-creator of knowledge at the expense of posing as an empty vessel waiting to be filled by the college professor or instructor.
Similarly, Edmundson acknowledges the presence of oppression in thinking and learning approaches in the contemporary schools, but from a different angle from the one used by Freire. While Freire profoundly argues that students are highly dehumanized a.

A broad, general problem seen throughout the country is the integration of online course work into the public-school classroom. Technology is integrated into all levels of education: pre-K, elementary, secondary, and higher education (Leggatt, 2016). It began with a modest inclusion of videos or allowing students to research using school-provided laptops or tablets. This was the simple way of using technology. Now that technology is more accessible and affordable, districts are providing students with digital devices to use in and out of schools, allowing them to utilize their phones, and requiring them to complete coursework online outside of the classroom (Hohlfeld, Ritzhaupt, Dawson, & Wilson,.

Fortunately, you and Kathryn hit it off right away and you’re excited to be part of her team.
It’s Monday morning, you’re at your desk with a cup of coffee and a Danish staring at your long list of emails wondering how you’ll ever have time to catch up on last week’s projects. Your boss Kathryn briskly enters your office, sits down, and says, you’re going to love this assignment. I have hand-picked you to prepare a financial analysis for a new client in the retail industry. Kathryn goes on to say your report will be part of a company-wide analysis of the retail business sector in the US. For the analysis, she instructs you to choose from a list of paired public retail companies that are among the Fortune 500 and to be prepared to present your findings to the client. Kathryn hands you the list of paired public retail companies, suggested steps to follow, and a list of deliverables. She strongly encourages you to submit drafts, which she refers to as milestones. The purpose of the milestones is to receive Kathryn’s constructive feedback on your deliverables to give you an opportunity to improve your final versions before her deadline.
Further, Kathryn informs you that she and the CFO will also be attending your presentation to the client. They plan to use your presentation as part of the first quarter review all new employees undergo during the probation period with the company. Realizing this project could make or break your opportunity to stay employed beyond the probation period, you decide to review financial analyses techniques, interpreting SEC 10-K reports, and other resources to prepare the report and make a stellar presentation (Appendix A).

The committee focused on three broad areas of development, including:
education;
assessment; and
development of policies and procedures.

Barbara and Judi entered into a contract with Linda, which provided that they open a jewelry store in Fullerton. Linda is obligated to supply all jewelry in accordance with a specified price list. Linda also agreed that she would not personally compete or supply another retail merchant, either directly or indirectly, within the City of Fullerton.
Linda, in order to give the necessary credit to Barbara and Judi, required that Joanne act as a guarantor. Barbara and Judi have been very successful, making substantial profits each month.
After one year's time, Barbara, who also has an additional job as a legal secretary, requires an extended vacation. Judi is fully in agreement. While Barbara is on her vacation, Linda sells jewelry to three additional retailers, all of whom, in the space of one week, open competitive shops in Fullerton. Linda's agreement with the new retailers is to provide inventory to the new stores at a substantially reduced cost, permitting them to sell retail at rates far below Judi and Barbara's cost. In one month's time, Judi closes the business and, unknown to Barbara, files suit in Federal District Court, alleging breach of contract on Linda's part and further alleging that she only has been damaged. Barbara returns from her extended vacation one month after the suit is filed and files a motion to intervene under Rule 24. Linda files a motion under Rule 19, alleging that Barbara should be joined as a party. Joanne, who lives in Nevada, learns of the lawsuit and asks her attorney to file a motion to intervene under Rule 24. Linda, in the requisite time, files her answer and files a motion under Rule 14 to implead the Rhodesian Diamond Company, her supplier and with whom she has a contract which required that she increase her sales and open new offices or lose her contract.
Assume proper jurisdiction of the subject matter, parties and venue. Discuss all civil procedure issues and give proper argument concerning motions made by Linda, Joanne and Barbara.
Discuss your answers in a very full narrative IRAC essay with much detail.

SuperBrowse Chapter 403. Dissolution of Marriage; Child Custody (Refs & Annos)
SuperBrowse Custody
1. Proposed Legislation
Effective: July 14, 2018
KRS § 403.270
403.270 Custodial issues; best interests of child shall determine; rebuttable presumption that joint custody and equally shared parenting time is in child’s best interests; de facto custodian
Currentness
(1) (a) As used in this chapter and KRS 405.020, unless the context requires otherwise, “de facto custodian” means a person who has been shown by clear and convincing evidence to have been the primary caregiver for, and financial supporter of, a child who has resided with the person for a period of six (6) months or more if the child is under three (3) years of age and for a period of one (1) year or more if the child is three (3) years of age or older or has been placed by the Department for Community Based Services. Any period of time after a legal proceeding has been commenced by a parent seeking to regain custody of the child shall not be included in determining whether the child has resided with the person for the required minimum period.
(b) A person shall not be a de facto custodian until a court determines by clear and convincing evidence that the person meets the definition of de facto custodian established in paragraph (a) of this subsection. Once a court determines that a person meets the definition of de facto custodian, the court shall give the person the same standing in custody matters that is given to each parent under this section and KRS 403.280, 403.340, 403.350, 403.822, and 405.020.

Subject to KRS 403.315, there shall be a presumption, rebuttable by a preponderance of evidence, that joint custody and equally shared parenting time is in the best interest of the child. If a deviation from equal parenting time is warranted, the court shall construct a parenting time schedule which maximizes the time each parent or de facto custodian has with the child and is consistent with ensuring the child's welfare. The court shall consider all relevant factors including:
(a) The wishes of the child's parent or parents, and any de facto custodian, as to his or her custody;
(b) The wishes of the child as to his or her custodian, with due consideration given to the influence a parent or de facto custodian may have over the child's wishes;
(c) The interaction and interrelationship of the child with his or her parent or parents, his or her siblings, and any other person who may significantly affect the child's best interests;
(d) The motivation of the adults participating in the custody proceeding;

BalanchineGeorge Balanchine is an important figure in the histor.docxwilcockiris
Balanchine
George Balanchine is an important figure in the history of ballet as he was a major exponent of ballet in the US. He established the first school of American ballet in NYC with Lincoln Kirstein in 1934. Balanchine’s style has been called Neoclassical and the success of his NYC Ballet has spawned many regional companies in the US, including Miami City Ballet, keeping his repertory alive. Balanchine brought a new aesthetic to ballet, stripping away its sentimentality and bringing attention to the movement rather than the spectacle. He brought quick footwork, precision and musicality to classical ballet technique. He collaborated extensively with the composer Stravinsky. His work with the Ballet Russe in the early 20th century exposed Balanchine to the most prominent musical composers and visual artists of the period (i.e. Picasso, Matisse, etc.) which influenced his experimentation with abstraction in the form.
Ballet continues to evolve today. Traditional classical ballets such as Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake are still performed today with the addition of more contemporary interpretations of the form. Some examples of contemporary ballet:
Modern Dance
Modern dance began as a departure from the restrictions of ballet and a desire to express a wider palette of the human experience. It emphasized the expression of emotion, the exploration of dynamics in the body and presented narratives in a more abstract manner. Some modern dance pioneers eventually developed their own codification and/or process for working. The postmodern dancers rejected codification of any kind as well as known methods for composition. They valued personal movement, innovative forms of performance and preferred abstraction over story telling.
Pioneers of Modern Dance
Isadora Duncan 1877-1927, believed movement should be drawn from nature and was inspired by Ancient Greece, wearing long toga-like robes in her performances. The Duncan technique was comprised of movements such as hopping, swinging, running, skipping and leaping; her desire was to free the body from the confines of ballet.
Ruth St Denis 1878-1968, was inspired by the dances of Asia, in addition to other culturally based forms. She is well known for her grand spectacles, creating a formal school/company. Her husband Ted Shawn was also a pioneer in modern dance who created an all male dance company in addition to performing with Ruth. Martha Graham was a student Ruth St. Denis and later became a member of her company.
Mary Wigman 1886-1973, was a German dancer/choreographer inspired by Expressionism, an artistic movement that emphasized raw emotions. She was a student of Rudolf Laban. In her famous Witch Dance, she went against traditional norms of female beauty in dance.

Rudolf Laban 1879-1958, is sometimes referred to as the father of German modern dance; he developed a system for notating dance called Labanotation in addition to developin.
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
BA 620 Managerial Finance Group Problem Set 2 (125 poi.docx
1. BA 620 Managerial Finance
Group Problem Set 2 (125 points)
This problem Set is based on materials covered in modules 5, 6,
and 7. It is designed
for you to demonstrate your understanding and be able to apply
basic capital budgeting
concepts, working capital management, dividend policy, and
international financial
management.
Part 1: Capital Budgeting Analysis
Adams, Incorporated would like to add a new line of business to
its existing retail
business. The new line of business will be the manufacturing
and distribution of animal
feeds. This is a major capital project. Adams, Incorporated is
aware you an in an MBA
program and would like you to help analysis the viability of this
major business venture
2. based on the following information:
• The production line would be set up in an empty lot the
company owns.
• The machinery’s invoice price would be approximately
$200,000, another
$10,000 in shipping charges would be required, and it would
cost an additional
$30,000 to install the equipment.
• The machinery has useful life of 4 years, and it is a MACRS
3-year asset.
• The machinery is expected to have a salvage value of $25,000
after 4 years of
use.
• This new line of business will generate incremental sales of
1,250 units per year
for 4 years at an incremental cost of $100 per unit in the first
year, excluding
depreciation. Each unit can be sold for $200 in the first year.
The sales price
and cost are expected to increase by 3% per year due to
inflation.
• Net working capital would have to increase by an amount
equal to 12% of sales
3. revenues. The firm’s tax rate is 40%, and its overall weighted
average cost of
capital is 10%.
Required:
1. If the company spent $40,000 last year in the upkeep of the
empty lot, should this
cost be included in the analysis? Why or why not?
2. Disregard the assumptions in part 1 above. What is the
machinery’s depreciable
basis? What are the annual depreciation expenses?
3. Calculate the annual sales revenues and costs (other than
depreciation).
4. Construct annual incremental operating cash flow statements.
5. Estimate the required net working capital for each year based
on sales for the
following year. Working capital will be recovered at the end of
year 4.
6. Calculate the after-tax salvage cash flow.
7. Calculate the net cash flows for each year. Based on these
cash flows, what are
4. the project’s NPV, IRR, Profitability Index (PI), and payback?
8. Can you use the Payback method to decide whether this is a
good project or
not? Why or why not?
9. Interpret what NPV, IRR, and Profitability Index (PI) mean.
Based on your
interpretation, do these indicators suggest the new business line
should be
undertaken?
Part 2: Working Capital Management
1. Adams Stores, Inc. is trying to determine the effect of its
inventory turnover ratio and days
sales outstanding (DSO) on its cash flow cycle. Adams’ sales
last year (all on credit) were
$150,000, and it earned a net profit of 6%. It turned over
inventory 7.5 times, during the year
and its DSO was 36.5 days. Its annual cost of goods sold was
$121,667. The company had
fixed assets totally $35,000. Adams’ payable deferral period is
40 days.
A. Calculate Adams’ cash conversion cycle
B. Calculate assets turnover and return on assets (ROA)
C. As one of the managers at Adams Stores, Inc, you believe the
annual inventory turnover
5. can be raised to 9 times without affecting sales. What would
Adams’ cash conversion
cycle, total assets turnover, and ROA have been if the inventory
turnover had been 9 for
the year?
2. Assume the company work for reported sales of $10 million
and an inventory turnover of 2.
The company is now adopting a new inventory system as part of
its working capital
management. If the new system is able to reduce the company’s
inventory level and increase
inventory turnover ratio to 5 while maintaining the same level
sales, how much cash will be
freed up as a result of the new inventory system.
Part 3: Dividend Policy:
Assume that you were recently hired by a national consulting
firm, which has been asked to
help Adams, Stores, Inc. prepare for its public offering.
Prepare a presentation in which you
review the theory of dividend policy and discuss the following:
A. The terms “irrelevance,” “bird-in-the-hand,” and “tax
preference” have been used to
describe three major theories regarding the way dividend
payouts affect a firm’s value.
Explain what these terms mean, and briefly describe each
theory.
6. B. What do the three theories indicate regarding the actions
management should take with
respect to dividend payout?
C. What are stock repurchases? Discuss the advantages and
disadvantages of a firm’s
repurchasing its own shares.
D. What are stock dividends and stock splits? What are the
advantages and disadvantages
of stock dividends and stock splits?
Part 4: International Financial Management
Citrus, Inc. is a medium-sized producer of citrus juice drinks in
Florida. Until now, the company
has confined its operations and sales to the United States, but
its CEO, Heidi Sims, wants to
expand into Europe. The first step would be to set up sales
subsidiaries in Spain and Sweden,
then to set up a production plant in Spain, and, finally, to
distribute the product throughout the
European Union. The firm’s financial manager, George Benson,
is enthusiastic about the plan,
but he is worried about the implications of the foreign
expansion on the firm’s financial
management process. He has asked you, the firm’s most
recently hired financial analyst, to
develop a 1-hour tutorial package that explains the basics of
multinational financial
management. The tutorial will be presented at the next board of
7. director’s meeting. To get you
started, Benson has supplied you with the following list of
questions.
A. What is a multinational corporation? Why do firms expand
into other countries?
B. Discuss at least six major factors which distinguish
multinational financial management
from financial management as practiced by a purely domestic
firm. (Please consider
doing additional research on this question and document your
findings).
C. Discuss exchange rate risk as they relate to multinational
corporations.
D. Describe the current International Monetary System. How
does the current system differ
from the system that was in place prior to August 1971? (Please
consider doing
additional research on this question and document your
findings).
E. What is the difference between spot rates and forward rates?
When is the forward rate
at a premium to the spot rate? At a discount? (Please consider
doing additional
research on this question and document your findings).
F. From a managerial point of view, discuss how your responses
above will help Citrus, Inc.
as they plan to expand overseas.
8. Specific Instructions:
1. Complete and submit your assignment no later than the last
day of Module 7.
2. Include only the names of your group members who
participated in this
assignment when you submit.

Chamberlain College of Nursing
NR 631: Nurse Executive Concluding Graduate Experience
September/October 2018
15. Running head: COMMUNICATION PLAN 1
COMMUNICATION PLAN 1
Communication Plan
The project focus is on the inclusion of HRO Principles in
conjunction with traditional pressure injury prevention
strategies in the prevention of pressure injuries for the critical
care patient population. Within this project, the stakeholders
include the project sponsor (AVP of nursing), resource staff
nurses know as SWAN Nurses (skin and wound assessment
nurses), Wound Ostomy Continence Nurses (WOCN’s), Nursing
Quality Coordinator, Nurse Managers (for all four critical care
units), multidisciplinary team members, and the critical care
nursing staff. Project plan and interventions will need to be
communicated to all staff members (AM and PM Shifts) within
four different critical care units. Traditional means of project
communication include meetings, power point presentations,
newsletters, minutes with summary of project highlights/next
steps, and email updates. Will also be utilizing an online
collaborative discussion forum site and skype ability for
meeting attendance to ensure meaningful communication to the
maximal number of individuals.
Effective communication is a critical aspect of project-based
change management; poor communication has been associated
16. with project failures (Parker, Kunde, & Zeppetella, 2017).
Communication influences trust, commitment to the project,
project coordination, and team member collaboration
(Rimkuniene & Zinkeviciute, 2014). Team involvement and
consideration for individual contributions and suggestions is
important to the success of any project. In any project team
meeting, it is important to establish ground rules where
everyone’s input is encouraged and respected. Healthcare is
challenging because team members work different shifts, many
team members work only three days per week & may have
difficulty coming to work when not scheduled a full shift, and
unit needs may preclude a team member from joining a meeting
that they intending to be a part of. Projects are increasingly
complex and require integration of technology as well as
flexibility to effectively communicate with all project team
members that often may have differing cultural backgrounds,
familiarity with technology, come from different generations,
and live in various geographic locations (Parker et al., 2017).
Believe an important communication strategy for this project
will be the initial team meetings with project stakeholders.
Will utilize both meeting space along with ability to skype into
the meeting from home (if not scheduled on a specific day).
Kick off meetings can promote building of a rapport and trust as
well as create an environment of open, transparent
communication among team members (Downing, 2015).
Additionally, a kick off meeting can help to introduce the goal
of the project as well as role responsibilities (Downing, 2015).
For any meeting it is important to begin with introductions, so
each member is familiar with members of the project team.
Especially since project members may have independent work
and need share information learned/work progress with the team
on an ongoing basis. The kick off meeting allows for
introductions as well as discussion on project background, goal
setting, definition of scope, and establishment of
deliverables (Downing, 2015). Making sure that team members
understand the why behind the project is important. This
17. information is also useful in establishing project goals as well
as a timeline.
Biweekly SWAN meetings allowing for meaningful discussion
of work, barriers encounters, and feedback is essential. The
use of a collaborative discussion forum site will be very helpful
and allow for exchange of information, ideas, and suggestions
from the critical care SWAN team over the course of a two-
week timeframe (between meetings) with sharing of unit
specific skin rounds audit results are important communication
strategies. The SWAN team shares a monthly newsletter with
divisional staff as a means for both education and
communication. Additionally, the chair of the SWAN
committee attends the critical care shared governance divisional
coordinating council where project information, next steps, and
progress will be shared with other staff leaders in shared
governance.
The project manager will be responsible for sharing biweekly
project status update reports with the project sponsor along with
the project team and unit leadership. A formal presentation at
the multidisciplinary attended Critical Care Committee will
ensure that all the entire interprofessional team is both aware of
the project and is engaged in interventions as appropriate.
Nurse managers for the four critical care units are part of the
project team and will be charged with sharing project
information and progress in unit staff meetings and through
weekly management updates. Nurse educators and clinical
nurse specialists will be responsible for communication of
educational material through HealthStream, the online education
system that tracks completion compliance. Lastly, the nursing
quality coordinator will be responsible for compiling HAPI
incidence information from the organizational event reporting
system and communicating this specific information from a
unit-based perspective as well as developing charts/graphs to
aid in understanding the data. This data will be displayed in
each of the units on the unit’s quality board. Planning
celebrations at project milestones can help also create
18. enthusiasm and excitement about the project plan.
In conclusion, choosing the medium and manner of
communication can be as important as the message itself and the
timeliness of the delivery (Musynska, 2018). Effective,
meaningful communication strategies are associated with
successful project outcomes. It is important that
communication is planned to consider the various approaches
possible and preference of the audience (Musynska, 2018). In
Attachment A below, please find specifics of the project plan
including stakeholder/project member information, preferred
communication method, timing associated with communication,
and responsible party for the specific communication (report
prepared by information).

28. Hi everyone, I often get questions about the outline or format
for the week 4 assignment. All of your assignments from this
point forward will follow the same basic format:
· Title Page
· Scholarly narrative section(s)
· If there is only PM one tool for the week, you'll have one, 1-2
page narrative section
· If there are two PM tools, you'll have a second section that
starts immediately after the first, with an additional 1-2 pages
· Reference page
· Appendix 1: Attach your completed template
· Appendix 2: Attach your completed template (if there is a
second)
When there are two PM tools, it doesn't matter which order you
list them. Whatever order you discuss them in the narrative
section should be the order they appear in the appendix. I hope
that helps!
To help you even further, I have attached a communications
plan assignment from a student in a previous section who did an
outstanding job. The attached exemplar earned a full credit
score. This should give you an idea of what I'm looking for.
