Job Title: Internal Control Center – Operation Head
Nationality: GCC Nationals
Reporting to: Operational Planning and Control Manager
Job Summary
Manage the day to day operations of the internal control center function and coordinate with the
national control centers for the overall interconnected network operations and control.























Develop analysis reports and mitigation strategies
Develop function’s annual plan and budget
Develop policies and procedures and ensure spread across the function
Supervise and direct Interconnection Control Engineers.
Develop the Control Centre procedures for all areas of operation.
Liaise and co-ordinate with other GCC member states TSOs operational planning and market
operations teams.
Develop team structure for control center staff.
Receive reports from control engineers and develop analysis of systems and faults, escalate
findings to appropriate departments
Develop mitigation strategies for planned and unplanned outages based on network contingency
analysis
Supervise and ensure department’s coordination with member states for control of frequency
reserve shares
Supervise the preparation and manage the system restoration plan
Manage performance of internal control center staff and coordinate with Talent Management
department to ensure proper training and development are provided
Set and control power trading schedules and regulations in coordination with trading department
Handle the administration and updating of the system grid code which includes a metering code
Manage all operations within the control centre of the 400 kV network during normal and
emergency situation.
Develop a training plan for the control centre staff and other member states control room staff.
Ensure staff gain familiarity with new systems including user testing, database verification,
contingency and evacuation testing, simulator testing.
Ensure new computer system functions such as transmission control, safety, switching is tested
by the control room staff that will use them to provide familiarity and a sense of ownership.
Verify that EMS is fully functional for the purposes of company Standard running and post fault
running arrangements are to be verified for fault levels and post fault actions by day staff on a
daily basis as necessary for shift staff to be able to run power flow, fault level and stability studies
for out of hours post fault action.
Review the daily Logs following system events to assure all equipment and control systems
performed correctly
Investigate TSOs complaints/compliments and issues the appropriate reports. Prepares
memorandums, operating orders and procedures for system operations as necessary.

Master’s in Business Administration
Training in control engineering for winter and summer
