2. Live Theatre
• Operated by North East Theatre Trust Limited, this company has a
reputation as a ”new writing theatre”. All in all, they produce and present
brand-new plays, whilst seeking and supporting creatives in the industry.
Most of the opportunities they have to offer are free to access, allowing
actors and writers etc. to take part, no matter how experienced they are.
• They are based in central Newcastle,
approximately a 10-minute walk from
Monument metro station, offering 2
performance spaces
• They are able to carry out many plays
due to the support of trusts,
foundations and generous individuals
3. Alphabetti
• Alphabetti is a theatre based in Newcastle, who
“create, produce and programme” work from
creatives across the North East. Their aim is to
make more relatable and accessible theatre.
• They offer opportunities for writers, actors
and directors. They believe great art
should be for everyone, not just for those
who can afford it. Which is why they state
that they “spend time working with
organisations to ensure that those who
wouldn’t have otherwise come to the
theatre are able to access it”.
