sole traders, change agents, business coaches and catalysts, you may be asking questions
like... “How do we move forward and find new ways of shifting from surviving to thriving
in this fast moving changing world?” How do we become resilient and sustainable? Or
“how do we embody a leadership style that takes in the complexity of all that we have to
be and do in order to move forward?”
Adventures with Horses is a new organisation providing equine facilitated learning.
Working with organisations, we are offering space for reflection and leadership
development by working experientially with horses. This is an opportunity to get away
from the office in order to reflect on and potentially access some of the inner resources
needed to answer those and other compelling questions organisations of all sizes face. The
presupposition is that each person is an expert on themselves, in their field, and already
working towards resilience and sustainability. And that he or she already has all the innate
qualities and skills to be a leader and team builder already there. These skills may be skills
you are already aware of, or they may be skills you are unconscious of, you discover or
rediscover these qualities and skills by engaging with horses.
Horses? This is about learning experientially with horses on the ground, engaging with
them without force or dominance, whilst being supported in a non-judgemental space by
a facilitator who not only knows some great ways of getting horses and humans to work
together, but who has also spent over 25 years running businesses herself. Horses by their
natural biological make-up will be asking us to be their leaders whilst we perform simple
tasks with them. They will expect us to become authentic, empathic, co-creative leaders if
we wish to move forward with them.
Horses have the gift of being extraordinary mirrors,
reading our body language and reflecting back to us
accurate non-judgemental feedback on our
leadership styles. Trust, presence, humility,
integrity and congruency, are all qualities we
can really embody with horses as our
co-creative partners. This embodied way of
learning can provide insights and new
pathways which are then transferable back
into everyday day life.

in September and October.
Cost: £70 per person.
Up to 6 people per group, please
book in advance. Also evening
sessions available, or book your
own group at a time to suit.
Location: on the edge of Dartmoor,
5 miles from Ashburton, Devon
Breakfast and refreshments will
be provided. Dress in the sort of
clothing and footwear you would
choose to take a strong walk on
Dartmoor.
This taster session can be a stand
alone session, or the plan may be to
develop for your organisation a 1, 2 or
3 day workshop, or a series of sessions
or workshops. These would be
designed specifically to suit your
requirements.
