I began editing a script sequence in Avid, following the director's instructions on shot types and dialogue order. While completing the task, my Avid editing skills improved as I gained insight into how editors follow instructions. The main difficulty was inconsistent audio, which I solved by altering levels and volumes between rushes to create a more continuous edit.

AVID Editing
I have begun editing a short sequence from a script using AVID editing software.
The script indicates what shot types the director want to be utilised in different sections of the
sequence and also provides the sequence that the different lines of dialogue should be edited
in.
By following the instructions on the script I have gained an understanding of how editors follow
instruction within the film industry and also improved my skills using AVID software.
The main difficulty that I encountered when completing this task was the problems with the
continuity of the recorded audio. In order to solve this, I first altered the levels then the volume
of the individual rushes so that they flowed more fluently from one to the next. This created a
more continuous edit.
