Ibm worklight - going from xpages mobile to native mobile applicationsMark Roden
Abstract
In this session John and Mark will demonstrate how an XPages developer can make the simple, practical, logical evolution from XPages to IBM Worklight developer.
Have you ever wondered how to easily integrate a mobile phone native feature set with your corporate web applications? We will show that any XPages developer currently building mobile-accessible websites already has the skillset to build native mobile apps using IBM Worklight. We will cover installation, setup, similarities in designer clients, the test environment, the skills necessary and provide a working example.
You have the skills, you have the knowledge. Your only challenge is to come to the session and understand how to make this work. Go from HTML5 to native in minutes.

Crossing the low-code and pro-code chasm: a platform approachAsanka Abeysinghe
Organizations are now using low-code and pro-code tools to build digital experiences internally and externally. However, not having the right alignment between these two approaches slows down delivery.
Different developer personas that work in silos, no connection between low-code and pro-code applications, low-code creating unmanageable shadow IT applications, no single codebase or build pipeline, and interruptions to the professional developer flow are some significant drawbacks.
In this session, Asanka will look at a platform approach to bridge the low-code and pro-code chasm.

Workshop: An Introduction to API Automation with JavascriptApplitools
APIs are an essential part of an increasingly large number of applications that we use daily. APIs enable applications to exchange data and functionality easily and securely. As testers, we want to ensure that our APIs do not break and provide the expected functionality. We can automate our APIs to speed up the rate at which our checks are done.
This workshop is geared toward persons who are new to API automation, who want a refresher or want to learn how to automate APIs using Supertest (a JS framework). In this workshop, you will learn how to get started with automating APIs using Supertest (a JS framework). We will be writing test automation for the restful-booker and the SpaceX-graphQL API.
The workshop will cover how to automate common API requests (GET, POST and PUT), negative tests for your API as well as check that your APIs handle errors appropriately and follow the specified schema.
During this workshop, you will also learn how to automate workflows for an API. To follow along with this workshop, Postman installed on your machine.

Graspan: A Big Data System for Big Code AnalysisAftab Hussain
We built a disk-based parallel graph system, Graspan, that uses a novel edge-pair centric computation model to compute dynamic transitive closures on very large program graphs.
We implement context-sensitive pointer/alias and dataflow analyses on Graspan. An evaluation of these analyses on large codebases such as Linux shows that their Graspan implementations scale to millions of lines of code and are much simpler than their original implementations.
These analyses were used to augment the existing checkers; these augmented checkers found 132 new NULL pointer bugs and 1308 unnecessary NULL tests in Linux 4.4.0-rc5, PostgreSQL 8.3.9, and Apache httpd 2.2.18.
- Accepted in ASPLOS ‘17, Xi’an, China.
- Featured in the tutorial, Systemized Program Analyses: A Big Data Perspective on Static Analysis Scalability, ASPLOS ‘17.
- Invited for presentation at SoCal PLS ‘16.
- Invited for poster presentation at PLDI SRC ‘16.
