- Stevenson went to Mr Henderson's School in India Street, Edinburgh.
- But then stopped and continued with a private tutor.
 In October 1861
- He went to Edinburg Academy which is an independent school for boys
- He stayed there for 15 months.
 In October 1864
- He was sent to Robert Thomson's private school in Frederick Street, Edinburgh
- He was there until he entered his University.
FAMILY AND MARRIAGE
 Stevenson was married to Fanny Van de Grift Osbourne in May of 1880
 Fanny was a widow with 3 children when she married Stevenson.
 When Stevenson first met her, she was married but he couldnt help the thought of being with her.
 After she was divorced due to her problems with her horrible husband, he wrote an essay for her, saying
how much he wants to be with her.
 They spent a lot of time together in Europe with her three children and continued being distant from
each other.
 Until one day, Stevenson decided to flee from his family to join Fanny who was far from him at that time.
 After many complications and also problems that occured because Stevenson’s family was not fond of
Fanny who was a widow with 3 children.
 They finally tied the knot in May of 1880.

 The Writers' Museum near Edinburgh's Royal Mile devotes a room to Stevenson, containing some of his
personal possessions from childhood through to adulthood.
 At least five US elementary schools are named after Stevenson.in the
- Upper West Side of New York City, in Fridley, Minnesota,
- Burbank, California,
- Grandview Heights, Ohio (suburb of Columbus)
- San Francisco, California.
- There is an R. L. Stevenson middle school in Honolulu, Hawaii
- Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California was established in 1952 and still exists as a college
preparatory boarding school.
- Robert Louis Stevenson State Park near Calistoga, California, contains the location where he and Fanny
spent their honeymoon in 1880.
