A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has issued an order for Glendale bankruptcy attorney James Beirne to appear in court to face over 200 counts of contempt. This stems from Beirne violating a previous court order barring false or misleading advertising. Beirne ran advertisements defending himself against past clients' complaints covered by the PinoyWatchDog website. Documents obtained by PinoyWatchDog show Beirne's statements about two such clients were false, as he did legal work for them more recently than claimed. Beirne will face a contempt trial in late February, with each count punishable by jail time and fines.
