Evaluation Task 5:

How did you attract/address your
          audience?
        By Olivia Hawthorne
Our Audience

Primary: Mid to Late teens (Male and Female)
Secondary: Early thirties (Males only)
The Characters We also have an attractive

                                                   attractive males, women

attract men of a similar age
                                                   because they can relate to
                                                   him.
The Setting
It’s set in an office in Dorking. This might attract both males and females from the early
30s.
This could be because of a few reasons. The first, it’s set in Dorking, a place which is
relatable to a British audience, unlike somewhere like Beverly Hills.
The next is the office setting, because many people in their early 30s will work in offices
and it’s nice for them to relate to working environment they are familiar with.
There are also lots of trashy magazines on her desk which she is reading, this might attract
females who are also into that kind of thing.
The Storyline
The storyline is psychological so it will attract anyone
who likes to think about what they are viewing. It
makes them become an active audience, rather than
passive.
The storyline is very similar to American
Psycho, therefore it could possibly attract a similar
audience to those who follow this film. The primary
audience for this film was under 18, so it’s very
similar to ours. It would seem that a younger
audience is more willing to try and figure out the
plot before it unfolds. They use the enigma of the
storyline to aid their entertainment.
The idea of a secret psychological killer at work, is
similar to the American TV series, Dexter. The
audience here is primarily 16-29, in both genders.
This may partly be due to the violence and possibly
the sexual content. As our piece is very like Dexter, it
would seem that we could also attract a similar
audience.
