The Associated Students of Madison (ASM) opened the first student-run food pantry called "The Open Seat" on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The pantry was funded by $23,000 from ASM and provides food to only UW-Madison students. Senior Brooke Evans advocated to ASM about her own experiences with hunger on campus and helped make the pantry a reality. The pantry ensures all students' basic needs are met so they can succeed academically.
