5. About College
Total 187 Acres of land are occupied in the entire campus.
Mughal, gothic and Indian Architecture were used
Onion shape dome were constructed.
Students were studies from all over the country.
About 650 Students were studying at present.
In campus Bird Sanctuary are there.
Main building were made up of makrana marble .
Wall cladding of building were made up of Red sand stone,
Dholpur stone and Kota stone etc.
6. About college History
In 1870 lord Mayo, then the viceroy
and Governor general, of India,
expressed his desire to set up a Raj
Kumar college; in Ajmer, devoted
exclusively to the education of the
sons of chiefs, Princes and leading
Thakurs,”
It is interested to point out that
several generation of the
descendants of many present at that
darbar have since continued to study
at mayo college.
The college was opened in October
1875, with Sir Oliver St. john as the
First principal .

8. About Architecture
Design were submitted in Grecian, indo – Saracenic and Kolhapur styles by
different engineers. The viceroy finally adopted Major Mant;s Indo- saracenic
design .The construction began in 1877 and was completed in 1885 at a cost
of 3.28 lakhs.
The design now lies in the archives of the British Museum in London.
9. Coat of Arms
This was composed from the design furnished by Mr. Lockwood kipling. A
former principal of the school of Arts, Lahore and the father of the famous
Rudyard Kipling.
In the Upper Centre of the shield are Mayo Arms, and Quartering, a Lion
Rampant and an open Hand. On the right and left are the sun and the Moon,
typical of Suryawanshi and Chandrawanshi, the two great families of
Rajput. Below are the Panch Rang , the five sacred colours of the Rajput's,
Red, Gold, Blue., White and Green. In the centre is a Rajput fort- two
towers connected by a curtain.
