Transportation is defined as the movement of people, animals, and goods from one location to the another location. It may be through air, water, roadways etc. It enables trade between people. Logistics is a method of obtaining, producing and distributing material and products to their destinations in the required quantities. Therefore transportation and logistics are different. Transportation is a component of the logistics. Logistics requires planning whereas tranportation is the mode of executing the planning required by the logistics. Therefore transportation is just a part of the logistics.
