Julia and Aaron were at the bottom of Japan's social class in the early 1700s as they were sword makers and lived in very small houses called Nagaya. As merchants and artisans, they traveled constantly on foot or horseback to supply goods to wealthy towns, as economic roles overlapped at that time.
