He emphasizes the importance of going beyond just school assignments and creating original, spec work to include in your portfolio. Monk also stresses getting feedback on your work and removing any pieces that are not well received. It is crucial to convey passion and enthusiasm for advertising during interviews, as the work alone may not sell you. Interviews are as much about personality and subjective opinions as they are about the portfolio.

Job Search Survival Kit -- OK School's Out, Now What --Anthony Hines
This presentation will give some tips to the recently graduated college student who is about to enter the workforce. It will focus on the skills and networking ability that have already been created and show the reader how to proceed in the job search process.
Who Am I….I am a hardworking guy who, like many others, found himself out of work during the economic downturn in 2010. After a long battle of wrong turns, job search strategies that led to no where, and dead end leads, I decided to take a more strategic approach to my job search. Like anything else in life, I needed to treat my search like a full-time job and create a plan that would allow me to stand out above the competition. This came in especially handy as I was in transition again in 2017. Basically, I just used the tips that I have shared with others and was out of work a total of ZERO days. Yes, I got a job offer the day after my last day at my previous job. Let me show you how I did it so you too can have a quicker landing than you would have had without my tips.
Why Am I Sharing What Helped Me…because I quickly realized that to handle an event like that is to focus on what you can control and share the experience to help others. I believe that an experience not shared is a lost opportunity in life, and that smart people learn from their mistakes and smarter people learn from other people’s experiences. Plus, I told myself that once I figured this out I would share it with others so that they too could navigate the world of unemployment. In these chapters, I show you how I did it so that you will have the confidence to make it through the process. I hope that this presentation helps you to get your next great job.

??? The Solitude and The Satisfaction
Many college professors as well as other writing mentors will advise new writers it is of utmost
importance to “Write each day. . . "
Although I believe inside value of these suggestions, I also think that in order being creative and
productive, you have to follow your personal instincts.
Some days I just don't feel inspired to create about anything. No matter how hard I may make an
effort to motivate myself on those days, I usually find yourself making myself more frustrated and
less creative.
The time spent trying to get inspired is wasted, which only adds to my discontent, understanding
that those hours might have been utilized more efficiently to clean the home, read some magazines
which were sitting on my coffee table for weeks untouched, browse the web for new resources or
personal stimulation, or (the bona fide truth) just lay on the sofa watching soap operas or talk
implies that require no thinking and might make me laugh, learn a new challenge or relax my mind
for few hours. . .
As with any profession, in the event you work continuously and don't take time off to just be a
person, a mom, or even a wife, you might lose your head, burn out or become from touch along with
the rest of the world.
My experience being a stay-at-home, single mom, and freelance writer working from my home office,
has proven to be a very satisfying, but solitary, arrangement. I love being home with my son and do
not need it any other way. He will only be a little boy for a few years and also the days when he goes
to school and I should be away from him for eight hours per day will arrive too early.
But sometimes I do miss the interaction with adults that people have built-in for their daily lives by
looking at an office to work every single day. Another facet of working from home being a writer
which is both an improvement and a challenge isn't having a boss with you.
It's wonderful to offer the freedom to perform what you want when you wish without anyone
overlooking your shoulder daily, but it's also easy to get distracted as well as to procrastinate if you
have only yourself to reply to. You alone are responsible for meeting your deadlines, earning money,
organizing your time and energy and ensuring making money online. If you do not seem like
working, nobody will probably tell you that you have to write or edit your content in progress on any
day.
You must establish your own personal guidelines and become committed to fulfilling these self-
imposed requirements. It's easy to put things off when you are not getting a push from a boss sitting
in the office close to you. It's also easy to forget that you are not the only writer, who are able to
deliver the article for the publisher.
When you're working in a newsroom to writers everywhere, you'll be able to feel the competition. It's
easy to forget this feeling when you find yourself sitting in front of your personal machine at home
alone. Another critical benefit to working in an office building with other writers will be the
2. opportunity to bounce ideas and words away from each other.
Getting feedback from fellow writers is generally helpful for your creativity, self-esteem, and focus.
One way to keep yourself connected to the competition and obtain opinions from your peers, would
be to join a writers group or take a writing class. There are many such opportunities available on the
internet now that not one of them you to leave your property or have a baby-sitter to participate
regularly.
See “Professional Associations" at for links to related resources.
Posting your advice and/or sharing your ideas in open forums and writing message boards online is
one additional way to keep in touch with writers and get ideas to inspire your own creativity or
improve your productivity.
I believe we can learn a lot by listening to the other. Remember that which you share as women
writers is truly unique. Not many people have our desire or our gift for emailing the written word,
thus so that it is difficult sometimes for other people to understand where we're coming from. . .
