Artemisia Gentileschi was an Italian Baroque painter born in Rome in 1593. She was heavily influenced by Caravaggio's style as she learned painting in her father Orazio's workshop. At age 17, she produced her first major work "Susanna and the Elders". In 1612, she was raped by her tutor Agostino Tassi during a private lesson. This led to a highly publicized trial where she was tortured. After the trial, she married Pierantonio Stiattesi and moved with him to Florence where she had a successful career receiving commissions from the Medici family. Her painting "Judith Beheading Holofernes" is considered one of her

It is still difficult to believe such competent and successful female printer exist in the early 17th Century (the Baroque era) She was rape by her teacher at the age of 18. Because of that much had been written about her from the feminist point of view, which I think is a mistake. It really does her a dis-service and took away her artistic achievements. We should stick to facts and evidences rather than the speculations of how the her mental state. It is stupid to psychoanalyse someone who live centuries ago without basis.
There are several points that stood out about Artemisia
She was very successful, her patronage include the royalties of England, France and the Medici. She worked in many cities. She would be successful even by today’s standard.
Her paintings lack the ‘female’ touch. It is indeed difficult to tell from looking at the painting alone that they were painted by a woman.
Her attention to details and gestures shows that she was a thinking artist. This can be demonstrated by the two versions of Judith Slaying Hologernes.
She likes strong colours particularly golden yellow and beautiful dresses.
Her family relationship with her father and children were good.
She liked the company of men and had many lovers.
I think, her paintings were the equivalent of a fast action movie of today, full of movements and a bit of sex and violence on the side.

Il termine barocco viene applicato all'arte del seicento già a partire dal XVIII secolo assumendo un significato dispregiativo indicando un'arte esagerata e bizzarra, soltanto in tempi moderni si è tolto a questo termine le sue valenze negative.
L'arte di questo periodo, nata come risposta al protestantesimo, assunse un ruolo di grande importanza per la diffusione al popolo delle idee controriformiste e venne usata come mezzo per ricondurre il popolo alla dottrina cattolica.
L'arte barocca aveva il compito di toccare direttamente l'animo e i sentimenti della gente e per far questo era necessario che essa assumesse forme grandiose e monumentali.
Il gusto barocco si diffuse però non solo nei paesi cattolici, ma le sue caratteristiche si ritrovano anche nei paesi protestanti.
Caratterizzano lo stile barocco la ricerca del movimento, dell'energia, accentuando l'effetto drammatico delle opere attraverso i forti contrasti di luce e ombra sia delle sculture che delle pitture. Anche in architettura è evidente la ricerca del movimento attraverso superfici curve e ricche di elementi decorativi.

It is still difficult to believe such competent and successful female printer exist in the early 17th Century (the Baroque era). In the last month I have read a lot about her until such that I feel I know the person and I can say something about her.
She was rape by her teacher at the age of 18. Because of that much had been written about her from the feminist point of view, which I think is a mistake. It really does her a dis-service and took away her artistic achievements. We should stick to facts and evidences rather than the speculations of how the her mental state. It is stupid to psychoanalyse someone who live centuries ago without basis.
There are several points that stood out about Artemisia
She was very successful, her patronage include the royalties of England, France and the Medici. She worked in many cities. She would be successful even by today’s standard.
Her paintings lack the ‘female’ touch. It is indeed difficult to tell from looking at the painting alone that they were painted by a woman.
Her attention to details and gestures shows that she was a thinking artist. This can be demonstrated by the two versions of Judith Slaying Hologernes.
She likes strong colours particularly golden yellow and beautiful dresses.
Her family relationship with her father and children were good.
She liked the company of men and had many lovers.
I think, her paintings were the equivalent of a fast action movie of today, full of movements and a bit of sex and violence on the side.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in Education
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
