This study examines using storytelling as a way for elementary students to critically analyze works of art. The researcher had 5th grade students write and verbally tell stories in response to looking at artworks. The students' responses were then analyzed using Feldman's model of art criticism (description, analysis, interpretation, judgment) and compared between written and verbal forms. The study aims to see if storytelling can be an effective way for elementary students to critique art without feeling overwhelmed, and to analyze differences between written and spoken responses.
