Three 15-year-old boys from County Armagh, Northern Ireland took their own lives within the past month while attending the same high school. A doctor reported that up to 12 teenage boys may have been involved in an online suicide pact where they agreed on dates to end their lives, and that internet research likely assisted the suicides. While no suicide notes were left, there was speculation of a pact arranged through online chatrooms and the involvement of pro-suicide websites. However, psychological autopsies suggest mental illness like depression is usually a factor in suicides.
